The return of alt country....
The Deep Dark Woods debut album is a stirring mix of alt country, folk, and rockabilly sounds. Strong influences of the Band, and Gram Parsons abound. From the rambunctious Foggy Night and Mountain to the slow burn of This Town Has Got Me Down, it's an impressive opening shot from a band whose sound on record is so natural and unforced. The Deep Dark Woods show tremendous promise in the studio, only surpassed by a live show that brings these songs charging to life. There's nothing to fear and so much to enjoy about a journey into the Deep Dark Woods.
