Album Review

The contemporary Christian music world needs bands like Starfield to balance the oversimplified nature of today's modern worship. Led by brothers Tim and Jon Neufeld, Starfield's mature, modern worship rock tackles the complexities inherent in modern faith — dualities far too often glossed over by other artists with featherweight "We love God" choruses. Consider, for instance, the implications of the incredibly vulnerable falsetto in "Something to Say," which acknowledges a doubt in the existence of God coming from a pure believer — dualistic, indeed. Other tracks, though more straightforward, are no less earnest. The first single, the peppy "Rediscover You," contains everything that's right in modern worship — an immediately recognizable, singalong chorus, boastful guitar work, a call to action, and a personal plea for grace, all wrapped up in Ian Eskelin's glossy production work. "Top of My Lungs" represents more of the band's ready-for-congregation style, reaching to the rafters with Delirious?-esque arena rock. The album works just as successfully as a whole as it does as individually packaged songs, delivering a well-crafted, highly personal collection to impact congregations.

Very Solid!

Starfield has always given off a humbling yet powerful sound in their worship to the Lord. As a person who has listen to
the group since a young age, i have to say they get better and better all the time.
Keep your eyes on the Lord guys and give all things to the glory of God! : )

Never gets old!

I listen to the cd over and over and it never gets old! It was the only cd in my truck and i never wanted to put in a diffrent cd either! I got the cd for free on the K love friend and family ctuise. What a great deal!

A honest pure worship album!

When I first got this, I wasn't overly excited about it - their first couple albums blew me way but their sound has evolved a little bit so I was hoping that I would grow to love it like their third album and let me tell you I now adore this album. Its very genuine, honest and somewhat raw in its message which I find beautiful and refreshing. If you are struggling, this album will make you cry but it is also a good reminder of God, his character and how as people we often struggle inwardly but try to pretend we aren't outwardly which doesn't work as we are meant to live in community. My favourite songs are Something to Say, Rediscover You, Absolutely, Overwhelm but honestly this album gets better which each listen. I am thankful that God blessed them with the ability to make music they are amazing.
