A masterpiece
It is unfair to other musicians to have this genius in the same line as work as them. In "The Slip", Trent put forth his best material in years. Excellent instrumentals, thought provoking and top notch lyrics, an exccelent balance of both harder and softer music, the list goes on. This is by far the best album of the year, welcome back Trent Reznor. You have truly reclaimed your title as the best man in the business.
Great album, but why is it here?
Solid album. But seriously, Trent put this up as a free download on the NIN website! It's still there! Why would you buy it here when it's available for free (how Reznor wanted it to be) in high quality MP3, Flac, and even WAV? I'm just wondering guys... Like, if you're wanting to financially support the artist then I guess that's a bit different, but I would say that in this case it isn't even requested.
Not the best, but still very GOOD!!!
"The Slip" is the return of Trent Reznor to his true form. This album resembles his old stuff like "Broken" and "The Downward Spiral" with a little of "With teeth" in it as well. "Discipline" is of course the best song of the whole album, the beat and the lyrics are just perfect and well blended. Other Outstanding songs are: "Demon Seed", "Letting You", the amazing instrumental "Corona Radiata", and most notably the aggressive "1,000,000". This album was made and given to all NIN's fans as a gift, so the fact that this album is such a well crafted one, makes it an even better and much appreciated gift.
