Thornley’s ‘Tiny Pictures’ marks a return to form
Since his days as frontman for the alt-rock outfit Big Wreck, Ian Thornley’s reputation as a talented singer/songwriter and guitarist has remained relatively below the radar of the current rock scene in North America. While his last effort—2004’s Come Again—was met with mixed reviews due to its stripped down and melody driven qualities, Tiny Pictures captures the complexities and depth of his musical genius, while remaining perfectly suitable for high rotation on modern rock radio. Ian Thornley is truly Canada’s hidden gem—a status that is sure to change with the release of this album.

It's something special when someone can make music the way Ian Thornley can. Unfortunately it's becoming more and more rare.
5 Stars is not enough!!!!
Without a doubt this is the best album I have heard in a long, long time. This album really spreads out Thornley's range with awesome rock songs, complex ballads, even the blue grass sound in All Fall Down, just amazing work here. I think the biggest problem is what song will be the 2nd single. There are too many to choose from. I think Your Song could be his biggest hit ever especially when mainstream radio picks it up. Way to go Ian! Make some room for the Juno's and Grammy's you will be earning for this work.
