Sick Hard No-Bones-About-It Rock

On a rampage of guerilla style recording, Matt McKechnie is up to his old tricks but with renewed energy. This time, you can hear the layers and inner workings of a full band of talented friends behind him. 'Valley Theory' merely hints at the descent into a world of things to come - it is only the beginning of an epic tale that is charted by the passionate & ever-personal lyrics, pulsating electric guitars and explosive drums. With production from Dean Watson of The Gallery Studios (Meredith Luce, The Soiree, Murder Plans), Graven takes the listener for a sentimental drive into their 'Golden Garage' of shoe-gazing, Canadian Shield-cutting rock.

Soft Tunes, Lasting Impression

This EP is simply not one to be missed out on. The first time I listened through the cd, it seemed to mellow, laid back, what you realize hours later after listening to it, is just how catchy it is. I find myself walk about, and thinking, `tears can`t be good for those.....`` I get lost in the words, but the songs of Graven stay with me all day. It is just the album I have been looking for, for a long time, and I eagerly await the debut of their next EP

Graven's Valley Theory is a Sweet Summer Disc

Graven's album has been sitting in my car's CD player all summer. Each song has something to say and something fresh to look forward to - I'll swing the volume up to catch Matt's lyrical twists; hammering on with his solid beats and hooks. Country Stars has one of my favourite lyrics: "she better hold on, she better not cry, tears can't be good for those pretty eyes": beautiful. Graven puts on a great show too! - I wonder what Matt and the lads have brewing after the success of this wicked ep?
