This is one book you can judge by its cover...

From the artwork to the musical minutiae, Bungalows is beautiful. If you already loved Jim Bryson for The Occasionals or Northside Benches, you're going to fall further for the stripped-down sound of this record. If you've never had the pleasure of hearing the wonder that is Bryson, this is him--at his very best. It'd be a shame not to buy it with its pretty cardboard package, but hey, the iTunes version is more green of you!

Intelligent, soulful & truthful

Much different than Jim's first two albums (The Ocassionals + North Side Benches), this album showcases Jim's lyrics and moods. Quiet and introspective yet satisfying especially after repeated listening. The lyrics are conversational in nature and cut to the heart. I have a feeling it's going to be in my "favorites" rotation this summer. Only wish it had more songs to flesh out the mood and atmosphere.

wow, finally light in the dark

short and sweet, dark and thoughtful feels like life all around us. Best album since Kathleen Edwards- Failer and the Hooblers - Where we are
