Album Review
The first proper release by Soul Oddity side project Phoenecia. The group's debut track, "Roba" (for the "From Beyond" series, on the Interdimensional Transmissions label) introduced a style of sparse, abstract, lo-fi electro similar to tracks the pair have released separately as Jeswa and Metic, among others. "Randa Roomet" is comparatively more straightforward, although the Escher-like layers of clicky percussion and frantic, ricocheting rhythms are still oceans from what you're likely to encounter dancefloors filling up to. Nonetheless, "Thong," the third of this four-track double-pack, is arguably one of the most advanced and accomplished breakdance tunes released since the late '80s.

Pay No Heed
This album is fine. Its late 90s IDM, so it sounds a little dated but it does belongs in the company of artists such as Autchre who were doing very similar things with Chichli Suite at the time. If you listen to Madonna, Adam Lambert and Sade like certain other reviewers do, the chances are that Phoenecia is not for you. So don't pay attention to comments that it is "amateur level" or uses preset VSTs. This is how experimental music sounded in 1997.
Air heads will enjoy this one
I've head all genre of Electronic Music. But this amateur level. Yet i don't know what to make of the sequences. Most seem to be presets from vst sounds. Musicians will get my drift on that note. The sounds on "can" for example are looped and taken from the Korg's wavestation - this EP requires production and a little more effort in creativity.
