That was the philosophy behind the creation of one of Yamaha's most popular two-wheeled vehicles, the CV80 "Beluga"-known as the "Riva" when it was released in the United States in 1983 and by various other nicknames around the world until the model was discontinued in 1987. It also sums up the author's experiences over several years of owning and tinkering with one and then another CV80, as well as a few other vintage motor scooters. "HALF A STEP AHEAD" is a personal and practical guide that's accessible enough to encourage a novice, yet sufficiently technical to offer insights of value to even the most practised scooter mechanic.
