Plot Summary
Forget everything you’ve ever seen in a serial killer movie, and get ready for the chiller that stunned festival audiences everywhere. Notorious murderer Garrick Turrell (AJ Bowen of HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, HATCHET 2) has escaped from police custody and resumed his killing spree. His former girlfriend Sarah (Amy Seimetz of ALEXANDER THE LAST) is a recovering alcoholic trying to put her life back together in a new town with a new man (Joe Swanberg of NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS). Her past continues to haunt her and now her ex-boyfriend is leaving a trail of slaughter in his hunt to find her. From Adam Wingard, director of award-winning film POP SKULL, and screenwriter Simon Barrett (DEAD BIRDS) comes an experience that is emotionally raw, disturbingly graphic and brutally real.

Fresh: A restrained, ripely atmospheric thriller that relies more on mood than on special effects.
Rotten: Here, too much handheld camera wobble and wavering image focus only alienate the viewer from this somewhat sluggish tale.

Watching this movie, truly is…"A Horrible Way to Die."
Interesting story. Poor directing
Sorry to say, be prepared for liberal visits from Mr Blurrycam and Mr Wobblycam. Would've likely been a solid 4 stars if the camera was steady and in focus most if the time. Constant use of these effects kept kicking me in my suspension of disbelief. Good story however.
