Plot Summary

Experience this award-winning, off-beat tale of a mismatched pair of traveling salesmen in the business of literally cleaning out skeletons from closets. Together, Davis and Bennett wander in and out of stranger’s lives performing ‘The Procedure’ and expose people's innermost secrets behind their doors of lies. However, when the duo arrive at a remote family home, they face a challenge unlike anything they've seen before. Can they finish the job or will they remain trapped in the closet, perpetually haunted by their own skeletons?

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: with its pitch-perfect performances, surreal streak of humour, strong sense of place and poignant notes of melancholy, it might just be the finest cult film to have come from Britain since Withnail and I (1987). – Anton Bitel, Film4, Jul 6, 2010

Fresh: One hesitates to over-praise such a delicate, small-scale work, but Whitfield seems like a major talent. – David Gritten, Daily Telegraph, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: Balancing oddity and fantasy with real emotions and pain is a difficult trick to pull off. Whitfield has managed it nicely. – Peter Bradshaw, Guardian [UK], Jul 1, 2010

Rotten: A leftfield comedy of the mundane with a sci-fi edge, 'Skeletons' doesn't quite know what to do with its bold ideas. – Dave Calhoun, Time Out, Jun 30, 2010

Skeletons

Not a fast moving film but it's smart and quirky and rewards your patience.

just_a_thought

I thought it was really good, thought I was renting a comedy, which I guess this could be (dark, not laugher comedy), but I enjoyed it.

Disappointing

Its few moments were not enough to compensate for weak acting and a terribly threadbare story.
