If it seems like the Jonas Brothers came out of nowhere — with shrieking fans following their scent like a pack of junior wolves — that's probably because the Wyckoff, New Jersey, natives did. While the trio's youngest member, lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Nicholas Jonas, had a brief solo career and Broadway run — Beauty and the Beast, Les Misérables — the Jonas Brothers band didn't rattle the cages of record label execs until 2005. "Year 3000," a glossy bubblegum-rock cover of a song by red-hot British band Busted, was one of their first singles; sure, it caught America's attention, but the Jonas Brothers phenomenon appeared overnight as a massive blip on pop culture's radar once they fused their larger-than-life TV personas — the small-screen smash Camp Rock, the eagerly anticipated J.O.N.A.S. series — with such impeccable pop tunes as "Burnin' Up," "Play My Music," and the synth-shocked "S.O.S." What's next, guys? A 3-D concert movie that'll leave us all singing along? Oh, wait . . .
