Plastic Bertrand

Un cas. Une bombe en pleine époque disco. Roger Jouret, Belge, a dix neuf ans en 1977 lorsque sous le nom de Plastic Bertrand il envahit les ondes et les hit parades internationaux avec « Ça plane pour moi », un 45 t au son saturé, 100 % punk, sur des paroles subversives et humoristiques qui marquèrent sa génération. Dans les années 80, c'est au Québec que Plastic Bertrand connut une deuxième carrière beaucoup moins punk et plus accès sur la danse grâce au tube « Stop ou encore » tiré de L'album), son seul disque d'or en Amérique du Nord. On pouvait alors le voir en tournée au Québec au sein d'un groupe canadien (au Spectrum de Montréal !) avec le légendaire Aldo Nova à la basse. Plastic Bertrand est retourné au Québec en 2004 pour s'y produire avec des musiciens québécois dont DJ Frigid, Poxy et Stefie Shock de la scène underground avec lesquels il triompha au Bal en Blanc (festival des musiques électroniques) et à nouveau en 2005 au Spectrum dans le cadre des Francofolies avec les membres du groupe Poxy. A phenomenon. A bomb smack-dab in disco time. Belgian Roger Jouret is 19 in 1977, when, under the name of Plastic Bertrand, he invades the airwaves and international charts with "Ça plane pour moi." It's a single with a saturated sound, 100% punk, with subversive and humorous lyrics that will make a deep impression on his generation. During the '80s, it's in Quebec that Plastic Bertrand's career finds a second wind — less punk though; this time it's geared more towards dance music, thanks to his hit "Stop ou encore," from L'album, his only gold album in North America. He then tours Quebec with a Canadian group (they play the Spectrum in Montreal!) with legendary Montreal bass player Aldo Nova. Plastic Bertrand returns to Quebec in 2004, appearing with musicians from that province, artists like DJ Frigid, Poxy, and Stefie Shock from the underground scene; their show at the Bal en Blanc (Festival of Electronic Musics) is a triumph. He returns to Montreal in 2005, with a show at the Spectrum — part of the Francofolies festival — with members of the group Poxy.
