Podcast Description

For the past twelve years, contributing editor and host Allan Gregg has had in-depth conversations with some of the world's most prominent authors, artists, and cutting-edge thinkers. "Whether the subject is evolutionary paleontology or the culture of amateur hockey, whether our guests are household names like Adrienne Clarkson or Salman Rushdie, or less well-known but important thinkers like Malcolm Gladwell or Edward O. Wilson, our show endeavours to reach beyond the headlines to explore the forces that create the news," says Gregg. By investigating not merely the whats of current affairs but also the whys, Allan Gregg in Conversation tries to give viewers a context in which to understand the world around them.

Customer Reviews

Great Interviewer!

Allan Gregg is an excellent and highly intelligent interviewer who really takes the time to properly research things prior to interviewing people. Moreover his guests and topics are very wideranging but highly relevant to anyone that wants to learn new things. The resulting product are podcasts that are extremely informative and useful interviews. I hope to see these podcasts continue for many years to come!

Insightful guests, great topics, and a masterful interviewer

I listen to every episode and have done so for many months. I thoroughly enjoy this podcast. The guests are diverse and always interesting. The topics are thought-provoking but this podcast's greatest asset is its host, Allan Gregg. He always knows the subject matter thoroughly, asks questions and makes comments that serve to draw out the most interesting aspects of each topic. As a podcast host myself, I particularly appreciate Allan's voice, pace, and interviewing style. The only recommendation I would make is to include the name of the guest at the start of each audio podcast episode. Keep up the great work!

Quality guests, but why reruns?

Allan Gregg is a good interviewer whose show covers a wide range of topics. He mainly interviews authors of current non-fiction. I long enjoyed his program on TVO and then the podcast format. My only quibble is that old shows are showing up in the podcast feed. I can see they're releasing shows on timely topics. I wish they would put the original air date (or "rerun") at the start of the description so I can quickly find and delete these, since I've already heard them all.
