The British Columbia Council for International Cooperation (BCCIC) is a coalition of international development organizations. Through relationship-building with other networks, BCCIC works toward its goal of achieving sustainable global development in a peaceful and healthy environment with social justice, human dignity and participation for all.

CleanDevelopment Lessons from Conflict and Post-Conflict Zones Growing a Country in the Midst of Crisis | In collaboration with Mennonite Central Committee, Food for the Hungry, CIDA, BC Council for International Cooperation and the University of the Fraser Valley. Three expert panelists present some hard-won lessons from their experiences of the successes and failures of implementing sustainable development initiatives within a context of violence, natural disaster, political unrest, etc. This is not a presentation about emergency aid, but rather the reconstruction and aftermath of building peace, security, infrastructure and capacity during or after a crisis. The panelists are from Mennonite Central Committee, Food for the Hungry Canada and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). CleanMuhammad Iqbal - The Maria-Helena Foundation | The Maria-Helena Foundation (MHF) is an organizational member of BCCIC. MHF is a small family-based private foundation. Their mission is to reduce poverty in Pakistan by promoting primary education and primary healthcare. They have helped establish 11 full-fledged primary schools, 5 home schools, and offer 190 scholarships of 42 per month per child in primary schools.
