Podcast Description

When it comes to verb forms, it's always the same problem: lack of speed. You understand the tense, and when you write, you can eventually put it together. But when you speak, you stumble, hesitate, have to stop to think and "write it" in your head... It's very frustrating. These French Verb Drills are designed to help you memorize the verb forms, and the way they are pronounced in French today. The aim is not to explain the tenses, nor to help you figure out how to construct them, but to help you gain speed when it comes to saying that verb form. Make sure you first listen to the intro to make the best use of these verb drills. Transcripts, additionnal drills, and more audio material are available at FrenchToday.com (by the author of LearnFrenchInBoston.com)

Excellent review for beginners /intermediate learners

I found all of Camille's verb drills very relevant, and an excellent tool for learning the key French verbs. She speaks slowly, clearly, and provides enough repetition that you get a chance to practice what you learn and compare it to how it should sound. I also like that she mixes it up, so it is not always in the same order, which makes you think about what you are saying. After listening to the avoir drills I bought some of her other verb drills on her site. Areas for improvement would be: 1) During the introduction, for her to say (in English) what the verb means in the tense she is conjugating, so you can think about it when you are saying it in French, and improve the thought to speech connection (and make sure you know for sure what you are saying). 2) For the verb drills you pay for, to eliminate the minute of advertising for her website she has for each tense, as it becomes very repetitive if you are listening to the tenses for a long time. Overall, a very, very good site.
