How Earth is Designed for Human Technology

How Earth is Designed for Human Technology

You may already know about the mounting evidence from physics, chemistry, biology, and related fields that suggests our universe was designed for large multi-cellular beings like ourselves. But did you know there is also evidence that Earth is uniquely fit for human technology? On this ID The Future, host Andrew McDiarmid speaks with physicist Dr. Brian Miller about the convergence of design parameters that come together to pave the way for human technological advancement.

How to Combat Censorship in Science

How to Combat Censorship in Science

Scientific censorship is on the rise. Governments are colluding with Big Tech to suppress unfavorable ideas. De-platforming and dismissal campaigns are all the rage. How do we prevent our society from slouching towards totalitarianism? On this ID The Future, host Casey Luskin welcomes science writer and journalist Denyse O'Leary to discuss today's forms of censorship, how it affects the intelligent design community, and most importantly, what we can do about it.

    Did Consciousness Evolve?

On this ID The Future episode from the vault, neurosurgeon Michael Egnor interviews Bernardo Kastrup, a philosopher with a background in computer engineering, about consciousness, evolution, and intelligent design. Did consciousness evolve? What does the evidence suggest? And how do materialists deal with the seemingly immaterial reality that is consciousness?

Why Science Needs a Scout Mindset

Scout or soldier? When it comes to our opinions and beliefs, there's a bit of both in all of us. But which mindset is more beneficial? On this ID The Future, host Andrew McDiarmid welcomes Dr. Jonathan McLatchie to discuss the characteristics of a scout mindset and how it relates to the debate over evolution and the evidence for intelligent design. A Battle of Predictions: Junk DNA’s ‘Kuhnian’ Paradigm Shift

A Battle of Predictions: Junk DNA’s ‘Kuhnian’ Paradigm Shift

Prevailing scientific assumptions often die hard, especially when they fit so neatly into an evolutionary view of the development of life on earth. On this episode of ID The Future from the archive, Dr. Casey Luskin gives host Andrew McDiarmid the scoop on one of the biggest mistakes in science of our lifetime: the concept of "junk DNA." Even if you’ve already heard this episode, listen again, and then share it with a friend! The myth of junk DNA is a major example of why a Darwinian paradigm can slow the progress of science, while a design perspective can open up new avenues for research and discovery. Wrong about lots of things, but still very interesting!

This podcast is fascinating for me, an atheist with a degree in biochemistry and a strong belief in Darwinian evolution. They really don't seem to expect someone like me to be listening, so it's interesting to hear how they talk about Darwinian evolution and the "evolutionists" who believe in it. They are somewhat dismissive of us at times, but I find their tone to be more respectful than that of the many evolutionists who dismiss all ID proponents as idiots that don't know anything about science.

Let's be clear: the people on this podcast may be wrong, but they aren't idiots. In fact, I think they make some very reasonable arguments about scientific dogma, academic freedom, science funding, science publication, etc.

I very much doubt they will convince me that intelligent design is true (I don't find the evidence compelling), but I'll continue to listen with an open mind. And if nothing else, for those of us who believe in evolution, this podcast can help inform us what parts of evolutionary theory we need to do a better job teaching in our schools and explaining to the general public.

Finally, you have to admire the persistence and dedication of the people that produce this podcast. Every few days they've got a new segment and they often discuss recently published research papers. If evolution researchers and science educators want to convince the next generation that evolution is true, they're going to have to be just as persistent. I'd love to hear a podcast on the latest research in evolution (without it being filtered through the prism of intelligent design), but as far as I know, nobody is making one. In the meantime, I'll continue to listen to this with an open mind and a healthy dose of skepticism.

Fantastic and Accurately Interpreted Science

The sheer quantity of 1-sentence reviews saying the idea of Intelligent Design (ID) is “pseudoscience” or “religion” is absurd. While there are a couple of guests who refer to and state their beliefs, it is made clear they are personal and unrelated to the science, and the vast majority of content makes zero mention of any personal beliefs.

What actually happens is the discussion of recent and long-held science, bringing forth logical/objective (without bias) interpretations of empirical observations. They bring on MANY guests, who often came to their own ID conclusions independently. Definitely worth a listen to more than one episode if you’re genuinely interested in science without the evolutionary lens/theory that has been forced as fact upon society.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t completely agree with everything presented (my personal beliefs/biases). But the well thought out explanations and defences, and thoughtful/respectful refuting of the evolutionary foundations contrary to empirical observation (and ID theory) are true expressions of the scientific method.

A giant pile of nonsense.

This is the Olympics of reality denial. Save your time.
