Podcast Description
When I started digging through the archives of Khush, a groundbreaking South Asian gay and lesbian organization founded in Toronto in 1987, I became captivated by letters—hundreds of them, written by people from all over the world, most addressed to Khush’s founder, Nelson Carvalho (who also donated the materials to the archives). There’s a romantic and considered longing in those letters for connection and community, in a world before Facebook and Grindr, and the emerged, vast, monolithic gay culture. Khush: A Show of Love gestures toward insights and questions about the legacy and relevance of Khush that are further explored in the podcasts below.
