Customer Reviews
intelligent, fun banter, great guests and music
Unlike a lot of DJs you find on local rock stations, Q's host, Jian Ghomeshi, asks some very thoughtful, interesting questions of his guests while still keeping the program funny and light. Being an accomplished musician himself, he understands the business and what goes into the production and creative spirit of music. Not surprisingly, he gets some very respectable guests, both musicians who often perform live on the show, and non-musicians like actors and producers and the like.
All Interviews I listen to everyday by Jian Gomeshi
I have listened to talk shows and interviews and I must say Jian has displayed great professionalism in his interviews. You can feel the positive vibes when interviewees communicate openly and with great deal of happiness with Jian. I was very impressed with the maturity with which Jian handled whiny Mst. Billy Bob. Obviously Billy's mates are more mature and are working under his glory with pressure and he orders them around. You can see that this group is destined to dump this self glorified music historian very soon. Congratulations to Jian for a very entertaining interview, each and every time, from the never heard of new comers to famous actors and other great personalities. I am actually feeling like I am in a classroom getting a lesson on the culture that Jian is so comfortably feeding us. Keep it up and you have a wonderful disposition and smile. God Bless you.
Entertaining, Enlightening, and Enjoyable
Jian Ghomeshi is straight to the point and actually listens to his guest's comments. He quite easily furthers the conversation by asking more questions based on what the guests actually say. It shows he is interested and this makes the guest feel welcome and gives them the comfort to speak freely. The way he addresses his guests is always interesting and his words persuade the listener to think over the content, question the subject at hand, and listen to future shows. The variety of guests is perfect and this gives a wide range of subjects for all willing to tune in. It's likely that whatever you're interested in will be covered in one show or another. It's an excellent show and it's convenient that it can be downloaded as a podcast!
