|---|---|---|---|---|---|
VideoX Men: First Class Reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "X Men: First Class," a rousing reboot of the musty Marvel Comics franchise. This origin story traces how such familiar characters as Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Professor X (James McAvoy) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) discovered and developed their powers, set primarily against the backdrop of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. Think "Mad Men" with mutants. Fridays at 9:00/8:00c on Current TV | 6/10/11 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoThe Hangover Part 2 reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "The Hangover Part 2," the sequel to the top-grossing R-rated comedy of all time. This time the "Wolf Pack" (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis) again needs to piece together a wild night on the eve of a wedding, but in Bangkok rather than Las Vegas. Alas, the comic inspiration and originality seems to have been left behind in customs as well. Fridays at 9:00/8:00c on Current TV | 6/10/11 | Free | View In iTunes
Video'Priest' reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "Priest," which stars Paul Bettany as the title character, a member of a disbanded order of warrior priests who springs into action to fight vampires in a post-apocalyptic future world. But heed the sermon from Brett and Ellen: Save your money. infoMania airs on Fridays at 9/8c on Current TV. | 6/6/11 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoThor reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "Thor," starring Australian newcomer Chris Hemsworth as the hammer-wielding Marvel superhero who's banished to Earth after a dispute with his father (Anthony Hopkins). Natalie Portman plays a scientist who falls for the big lug, under the somewhat unlikely direction of Shakespeare-steeped Brit Kenneth Branagh. Fortunately, as Brett says, you "don't need to be hammered to like 'Thor.'" Rotten Tomatoes is a recurring infoMania segment dedicated to the movies. Join hosts Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox on Thursday nights at 11/10c on Current TV as they roll out updates on the latest Hollywood news and judge the freshness of studio blockbusters and independent hits. | 5/20/11 | Free | View In iTunes
Video'Bridesmaids' reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "Bridesmaids," the first starring vehicle for Kristen Wiig of "Saturday Night Live." Wiig plays a single woman who's conflicted about the upcoming wedding of her best friend (Maya Rudolph), especially as she battles (rather raunchily) with the other bridesmaids. infoMania airs on Thursdays at 11/10c on Current TV. | 5/13/11 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoFast Five Reviewed by Rotten Tomates on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "Fast Five," the fifth installment in the fast-car franchise that has grossed nearly $1 billion since 2001's "The Fast And The Furious." Series regulars Paul Walker and Vin Diesel are joined this go-round by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, with the fancy driving all in service of a heist in Rio. Both Brett and Ellen rate the film as entertaining fluff, though you'll have to watch to see which one says, "Just rev the engines, let's see some panties droppin'!" infoMania airs on Thursdays at 11/10c on Current TV. | 4/29/11 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoArthur Reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "Arthur," the remake of the 1981 comedy that starred Dudley Moore as a lovable boozehound. This time around Brit bad boy Russell Brand plays the title role, with Helen Mirren as his tough-love nanny and indie darling Greta Gerwig the love interest. infoMania airs on Thursdays at 11/10c on Current TV. | 4/8/11 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoPaul Reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "Paul," the extraterrestrial romp from the British comedy duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, creators of "Hot Fuzz" and "Shaun of the Dead." Seth Rogen lends his voice to the seemingly stoned alien of the title whom Pegg and Frost help get back home. Both Brett and Ellen say Paul is a film you should leave home to see. Join hosts Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox on Thursday nights at 11/10c on Current TV. | 3/28/11 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoJane Eyre Reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "Jane Eyre," the latest cinematic take on the classic 19th Century novel by Charlotte Bronte. Mia Wasikowska ("Alice in Wonderland") makes an excellent Jane, while Michael Fassbender from "Inglorious Basterds" is a pleasantly brooding Rochester. Brett and Ellen each give the film a "fresh" rating. Rotten Tomatoes is a recurring infoMania segment dedicated to the movies. Join hosts Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox on Thursday nights at 11/10c on Current TV as they roll out updates on the latest Hollywood news and judge the freshness of studio blockbusters and independent hits. | 3/28/11 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoThe Adjustment Bureau Reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox put "The Adjustment Bureau" to the test. The thriller-romance based on a Philip K. Dick short story stars Matt Damon and Emily Blunt as a would-be couple being kept apart by a mysterious suit-wearing collective led by John Slattery of "Mad Men." infoMania airs on Thursdays at 11/10c on Current TV. | 3/16/11 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoRango Reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "Rango," the new CGI-animated film featuring the voice of Johnny Depp as a chameleon who suddenly finds himself transported to the American West. infoMania airs on Thursdays at 11/10c on Current TV. | 3/14/11 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoCedar Rapids Reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "Cedar Rapids," a comedy featuring Ed Helms as an innocent rube who has his eyes opened when he attends an insurance convention in the "big city" of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. John C. Reilly, Anne Heche and Isiah Whitlock Jr. play more seasoned insurance agents who lead the eye-opening. infoMania airs on Thursdays at 11/10c on Current TV. | 3/4/11 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoEagle Reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "Eagle," starring Channing Tatum as a Roman soldier seeking to reclaim an eagle emblem lost in battle by his father in the wilds of what would become Scotland. Brett shoots down "Eagle" as "a stoic and humorless failure," while Ellen likes the "hunky acting exercise" though stops short of actually calling the movie good. infoMania airs on Thursdays at 11/10c on Current TV. | 3/1/11 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoJust Go With It Reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "Just Go With It," a romantic comedy starring Adam Sandler as a plastic surgeon who beds women with the aid of a fake wedding ring and sob story. When Sandler's latest conquest, played by Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker, demands visual proof, Sandler convinces his office assistant (Jennifer Aniston) and her kids to pose as his ex-wife and family. infoMania airs on Thursdays at 11/10c on Current TV. | 2/16/11 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoNever Say Never Reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "Never Say Never," which chronicles Justin Bieber's meteoric rise from viral video sensation to global icon while still a teen-ager. Watching the 3-D (sort of) film has convinced Brett that Bieber is "a very talented kid with awesome hair," but do he or Ellen have similar plaudits for the movie itself? infoMania airs on Thursdays at 11/10c on Current TV. | 2/11/11 | Free | View In iTunes
VideoThe Dilemma Reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox review "The Dilemma," the comedy from director Ron Howard starring Vince Vaughn as a man wrestling with whether to tell his best friend/business partner (Kevin James) that his wife is cheating on him. Tip: Never miss a review that uses the word "cuckolded." infoMania airs on Thursdays at 11/10c on Current TV. | 2/11/11 | Free | View In iTunes
| 17 | VideoThe King's Speech Reviewed by Rotten Tomatoes on infoMania | Brett Erlich and Ellen Fox give the royal treatment to "The King's Speech," the Oscar-baiting film starring Colin Firth as England's King George VI, who must overcome a severe stutter to help rally his nation as World War II looms. Helena Bonham Carter plays George's wife Elizabeth (the mother of the current Queen) while Geoffrey Rush is the unorthodox Australian speech therapist who works with the king. If you somehow need any more reasons to click, this exclusive review also includes a rare (proper) use of "insouciant." How very posh! This used to be one of the very best podcasts on iTunes. Where did it go? No new episodes in months and only a few clips. Do they want us to go directly to current to watch? Why not just drop some ads into the podcast and bring back the full show?
