This Video Podcast explores SMARTBoard teaching techniques to 6-12 Math Teachers. Our emphasis and purpose is to create lessons that are engaging for students. The lessons we will present will focus on getting students up to the smartboard and out of their desks. We will be covering template lessons that the viewer will be able to download off our website. Although we will be focusing on Math topics, most lessons can be applied to any subject. Dave Sladkey is a high school math teacher and Scott Miller is the Instructional Coordinator for the Math Department at Naperville Central High School in Naperville Illinois just west of Chicago. Both have been using the Smartboard since 2004. They have presented numerous times at Smartboard workshops at the school, district, state, and national level. Join us for this weekly Video Podcast.

We have just completed our first podcast this school year and it has to do with NOTEBOOK EXPRESS. This is a FREE program that can run Notebook documents though a website. It is really cool. It is great for your students to be able to work with any Notebook document that you put out there. Also, we talk about one of the flash templates that Smartboard puts out called ANAGRAMS. | 9 | Video(#81) 800 Series SMARTBoard, Eraser and Writer, Left Side Right Side, and Minute to Win it Scrambler | In this episode we cover the 800 Series SMARTBoard as well as some teaching ideas that incorporate the dual touch. One idea like having one person an eraser and one person a writer. Another idea is having a student on the left side of an equation and one person on the right side. Then they have to work the problem together. We also took the idea from the game Minute to Win it on TV and use the game BREAKFAST SCRAMBLER to scramble pictures. It has been a really fun activity. | 25 | Video(#67) Guess What's Behind the Squares and some Holiday Fun | Happy Holidays! In this podcast we take a look at a template called Guess the picture. Here is how it works. You put a picture or a problem or a sentence behind a few squares. You have a student and their partner go to the Smartboard and delete one square. They and the rest of the class try to guess what the picture is from the revealed area. If they don't guess correctly, another set of two people come up and delete another square.
