TFL 71: Monaco GP Preview with Patrick "Paddy" Lowe - audio edition | Patrick "Paddy" Lowe is a no-nonsense engineer who loves his motor racing...and who also happens to be Technical Director of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. I was privileged to work with Paddy when we were both at Williams in the early 1990s and was struck then by his disarmingly objective view of life. After I complained yet again about the steam pouring from the enormous cooling towers from a nearby (coal-to-electricity) energy station that dwarfed the Williams factory at Didcot, Paddy rebuked me with the simple words: "Why complain? That energy station is the most efficient in England. I admire it every morning as I drive into the car park..." The simple elegance of the 2012 McLaren MP4-27 echoes that philosophy. On a grid crammed full of strange, oddly-angled cars, the McLaren stands out as a victory for curves over (apparent) stark necessity. We'll be talking about Paddy's design criteria - and about life in general - in the build-up to F1's must-win, "Marquee" race - the 70th running of the Grand Prix de Monaco. On paper, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button head into the Principality as clear, obvious favourites....but then 2012 is turning out to be no ordinary F1 year. In addition - and fresh from the team's brilliant victory in the Spanish GP - Williams F1 Strategy Engineer, Mark Barnett, will be talking us through the Monaco GP from his perspective; and, courtesy of Hilton Honors, Lewis Hamilton will be introducing us to the driver's side of the most glamorous race of them all - PDW | 5/22/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 70: Spanish GP debrief - audio edition | As consistently reported on The Flying Lap, Pastor Maldonado has been showing great promise ever since he made his F1 debut in Melbourne last year; we were also very enthusiastic about the Williams FW34-Renault's grip and downforce levels when we first saw the car at the first Jerez test in early February, 2012. In Barcelona - on a circuit that all the teams and drivers know intimately, the combination stunned the F1 world with a conclusive, brilliant victory. We are delighted on today's show to be able to celebrate live on-line with Pastor - to talk about his electrifying laps in both Q2 and Q3 and about the pressure he withstood in the closing laps of the race, when he was pushed to the limit by Ferrari's Fernando Alonso. We'll also be taking a close look at all the latest F1 technicalities with our resident guest, Craig Scarborough; Rob Wilson, who began coaching Pastor 15 months ago, will be giving us his thoughts on the Williams win; and America's Conor Daly will be talking not only about his GP3 win at Barcelona but also his upcoming aero test day with the Sahara Force India F1 team | 5/16/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 69: Spanish GP Preview; Remembering Gilles - audio edition | We preview this weekend's Santander Spanish GP with Lewis Hamilton's track guide and a strategy insight from WilliamsF1's Mark Barnett. Brazil's new GP2 star, Felipe Nasr, also looks ahead to the start of the European season; and, reflecting on the 30th anniversary of the passing of Gilles Villeneuve, we are joined by Jonathan Giacobazzi, owner of the 1979 F1 Ferrari 312/T4 that became an integral part of the Canadian's dazzling career. Jonathan's company, Donelli Wines, was a major Gilles sponsor in those Ferrari years and today Jonathan is both a Ferrari man and a purist of the truest kind. With Jonathan, we'll be looking back at the GV events of the past week and also looking ahead to Barcelona - and to the prospects of Ferrari and Fernando Alonso in particular. | 5/9/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 68: Mugello Testing - audio edition | As Formula 1 runs its first in-season test in the Pirelli era, we are delighted to be joined live on-line by Paul Hembery, Director of Motorsport for Pirelli. No stranger to The Flying Lap - or to New Media - Paul is respected up and down the pit lane not only for his knowledge and managerial skill but also for his obvious passion for the sport. We'll be talking to Paul about the season so far and about one of the key characteristics of the first four races - the relatively small "operating window" of the Pirelli compound combinations; and we'll be looking at all the latest trends from the Mugello test, where most of the F1 teams and top drivers are running. We also spoke to Sahara Force India's Nico Hulkenberg shortly before he left home for Day Three in Mugello. Nico reflects on his first four races with the team, the current standing of the VJM05-Mercedes and his prospects in the upcoming Spanish and Monaco Grands Prix. Our third guest, also joining us on-line, is Davide Valsecchi, the talented young Italian driver who has just made history by winning three GP2 races in a row. | 5/2/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 67: Bahrain GP debrief - audio edition | Four races and four different winners! On this occasion it was the World Champion, Sebastian Vettel, who rose to the top to win the Gulf Air Grand Prix of Bahrain. It was no walkover for Red Bull Racing, however. Kimi Raikkonen qualified only 11th but my mid-distance was pushing Seb hard, looking for a way past. Backed up by his young team-mate, Romain Grosjean, Kimi showed that LotusF1, too, are key players in this closest of F1 World Championships. Joining us in the studio to discuss all this and more, we are delighted to welcome back to the show Karun Chandhok, an F1 race/test driver since 2010 and also an astute observer of the sport from many unique angles. On-line from the LotusF1 base in Oxfordshire, England, Trackside Operations Director, Alan Permayne, also talks us through the Bahrain weekend and the qualities of James Allison's 2012 car, the E20; and, again joining us on-line from his "second home" - the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground north of Silverstone - Rob Wilson gives us his own, very eloquent views of the Seb-Kimi battle (and a little bit more besides!). | 4/25/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 66: Chinese de-brief, Bahrain preview - audio edition | With Nico Rosberg scoring his maiden career win in Shanghai, we look back at the events that defined his stunning weekend in China - at the speed of the Mercedes F1 W03 and at Nico's advantage in qualifying over his famous team-mate, Michael Schumacher. Craig Scarborough will talk us through the technicalities of Mercedes' "double-DRS" system plus many of the other significant technical developments seen on the McLarens, Red Bulls and Ferraris - and Rob Wilson will be returning to the show to give us his view of Nico's driving style (and a few other comments besides!). We also look forward to this Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix with the help of Williams F1 Strategy Engineer, Mark Barnett, and, courtesy of Hilton Honors, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton. There will be lots to talk about and to ponder - and so, for the first time, we will be making this a 90-minute show. | 4/18/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

Can Felipe Massa raise his game? What makes Fernando Alonso so good? How does Kimi Raikkonen manipulate an F1 car? And can Red Bull Racing regain their momentum? We discuss all these issues - and more - with F1's leading driver coach, Rob Wilson. We will also have a precise Chinese GP strategy analysis with WilliamsF1 engineer, Mark Barnett, who will be talking about the "fuel effect" of the Shanghai lap, the "pit stop delta" of the relatively short pit lane and much more besides. | 4/10/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

And, looking back, how does he view his F1 career and the path he took? TFL 62: QAGP debrief; Petronas Malaysian GP Preview - audio edition | The 2012 F1 season is now firmly under way, with two, demanding double-header race weekends stretching human resources and logistics to the limit. To this backdrop, we catch up with an ebullient Romain Grosjean while the memory of his stunning Albert Park qualifying lap is still fresh in his mind. TFL 61: Qantas Australian GP preview - audio edition | As the new F1 season bursts into life in Melbourne, we preview the race - and the season ahead - with a detailed look at the teams, cars and variables that may come into play. The very talented Craig Scarborough has in previous episodes talked us through the new cars and the developments we have seen during testing - but what will be the final, race specifications we'll see in Melbourne? Can Red Bull Racing begin where they left off in 2011? Or have the new regulations opened the door to Vodafone McLaren Mercedes, Scuderia Ferrari or perhaps to LotusF1 or Mercedes AMG Petronas? In addition, and in the first of regular updates we'll have throughout the year, WilliamsF1 Strategy Engineer, Mark Barnett, will be guiding us through the key, specific, elements of F1 racing on the Melbourne circuit. | 3/14/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 60: John Watson, MBE - audio edition | With Peter Windsor this week marking his 40th year in F1, The Flying Lap is delighted to invite John Watson into the London studio to share with us some of the highs and lows of the past four decades - and also to bring his own, inimitable twist to the F1 race prospects for 2012. A beautifully clean and fast racing driver, John is perhaps best-known for winning the 1981 British GP at Silverstone. This was McLaren's first win with the pioneering carbon-fibre chassis - and also the team's first since October, 1977. He also scored an emotional debut victory for Penske in Austria, 1976, exactly one year after the team lost their American star, Mark Donohue, and became a big name in the USA thanks to his two stunning victories for McLaren on the Detroit and Long Beach street courses in 1982 and 1983. On both occasions he sliced through the field not only to win but also to beat his brilliant team-mate, Niki Lauda. In retirement, John has been highly-acclaimed globally for his F1 analysis and commentary on all media platforms, including TSN in Canada, BBC Radio 5 Live, Eurosport and Sky Digital Plus. | 3/7/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 59: Mario Andretti - audio edition | It is very difficult to sum-up the man and the racing driver that is Mario Gabriele Andretti. For now, then, let's just adhere to the statistics: he is the only driver ever to have won the F1 World Championship, the Indianapolis 500 and the Daytona 500. (True: he never won Le Mans - but he finished second there in 1995 and he was third at the Circuit of the Sarthe, sharing a Porsche with his son, Michael, in 1983. He also helped Ferrari secure the 1972 World Sports Car Championship; and, in 1970, at the Sebring 12 Hours, drove one of the greatest races in sports car history to win in the closing stages.) He was won four IndyCar Championships from 52 race victories, countless more sprint and midget events, the Pikes Peak hill-climb and even a drag race. He is one of only three drivers ever to have taken the pole for his first F1 race - and his 12 Grand Prix victories and 18 poles came with two of the biggest names in the sport - Scuderia Ferrari and Team Lotus. Mario was as competitive in his 40s as he was in his 20s and raced at Le Mans as recently as 2000, when he was 60. He remains one of only two Americans ever to win the World Championship. And he is today the fully-active, passionate head of a family racing dynasty that has produced Michael, Jeff, John, Marco - and also, in the early years, twin brother Aldo. Mario, who turned 72 yesterday, is also a man of the times: he is on Twitter (@MarioAndretti); his website (http://marioandretti.com) is a feast of Italian operatic scores, images and stats; and he is the new face of Go Daddy.com, the domain name company. Very appropriately, a huge Mario Andretti billboard recently dominated Times Square in New York City. | 2/29/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 57: Darren Heath - F1 Photographer - audio edition | Like mechanics, F1 photographers are a breed apart. They are both artists and artisans; they live in the motor sport background, blending into a scenery that they themselves create; and, most of the time, they must be so passionate about their world that they are prepared to work for nothing. One such is Darren Heath, a genius I was fortunate to meet in the late 1990s, when we were all working at Haymarket's new monthly magazine, F1 Racing. It was easy, teaming with Darren - just as I'd always had a smooth time with such snappers as Nigel Snowdon, David Phipps, Peter Cramer, Keith Sutton, Michael Cooper and Maurice Rowe: my mediocre copy, I knew, would inevitably be carried by the creativity of Darren Heath. Today a freelance, with both editorial and commercial clients, Darren is roundly acknowledged as the....Fernando....of his industry. Or, perhaps, the Lewis. We shall see when we meet him in Episode 57. Fresh from his head-turning exhibition in London, Darren will be talking us through some of his best works, his life, his loves and his taste for what is right in the world of Formula One - and, yes, for what is not so right. | 2/15/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 54: The Sahara Force India VJM05, live from Silverstone - audio edition | Episode 54 represents a milestone in the short life of The Flying Lap, for on this occasion we will be airing the show live from what will undoubtedly be a very chilly Silverstone - from the launch of the new Sahara Force India VJM05. We'll be talking to some key SFI team members; examining the car with Craig Scarborough; and generally soaking-up the atmosphere of an F1 Team Launch, with plenty of questions to be answered from live viewers all over the world. As well as procuring the biggest F1 sponsorship/investment deal of the past 12 months (thanks to their new association with Sahara, the massive Indian holding company until now best-known for its support of the national Indian cricket team) Force India made huge strides in 2011 against such opponents as AMG Mercedes, LotusF1 and WilliamsF1. Paul di Resta raced sensationally through his debut season and in 2012 will be joined by the last man to put a Williams on the pole - Nico Hulkenberg. TFL 52: Scuderia Toro Rosso's Jean-Eric Vergne & Williams F1's Dr Mark Gillan - audio edition | France is in the F1 spotlight again! Three French drivers (Jean-Eric Vergne, Romain Grosjean and Charles Pic) will be racing in 2012; and there is talk, too, of a return of the French GP. At the forefront of the Renaissance, shoulder-to-shoulder with Grosjean, is the precociously-talented Vergne, a 21-year-old whose path to F1, backed by Red Bull from an early stage, has been straight and true: a successful karting career led to FRenault Campus, FRenault Eurocup, British F3 and, last year, World Series by Renault. Jean-Eric won that British F3 Championship in 2010 (driving for Trevor Carlin) and he finished runner-up in the 2011 WSR Championship, again racing for Carlin. After some late 2011 season Friday morning outings with Scuderia Toro Rosso and then a sparkling test for both STR and Red Bull Racing at Abu Dhabi, Jean-Eric (known by the diminutive "JEV") clinched the STR race drive for 2012. We spoke to him at STR's headquarters in Faenza, Italy. Also joining us on Episode 52 is the new Williams Chief Operations Engineer, Dr Mark Gillan. Highly-rated in the industry after successful careers at McLaren, Jaguar,Toyota and at the University of Surrey, where he was a Professor of Vehicle Engineering, Mark is a key part of the new face of WilliamsF1 - one that includes Mike Coughlin's style of engineering, Jason Somerville's aero department, Renault engines and Bruno Senna. | 1/17/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 51: 1st anniversary - celebrating with Rubens Barrichello - audio edition | As The Flying Lap marks its first anniversary, we are delighted to welcome as our guest Rubens Barrichello, live from Orlando, Florida. A gentleman, a passionate racer and above all a remarkable Grand Prix driver, Rubens is as hungry today as he was when he began with karts and then Formula Vauxhall Lotus in the late 1980s early 90s. He scored his first pole and podium finish when driving for Jordan in 1994; he finished a brilliant second at Monaco for Stewart in 1997 - and he scored his first Grand Prix win in a gloriously skilful display for Ferrari at Hockenheim in 2000. He has won three Italian Grands Prix at Monza - two for Ferrari, one for Brawn - and he scored a sensational British Grand Prix victory at Silvestone for Ferrari in 2003. In addition, Rubens is the driver who gave Michael Schumacher a win in Austria, 2002 - and who then won the US Grand Prix that same year in compensation. In total, Rubens has won 11 F1 races, finished on the podium 68 times, taken 14 poles, set 17 fastest laps and scored 658 points. More than that, Rubens Goncalves Barrichello has started 322 Grands Prix - (excluding the four weekends in which he never got to race). That makes him the most experienced F1 driver in the history of the sport (ahead of Michael Schumacher, 285, and Riccardo Patrese, 256) - and the second-highest points finisher of all time. | 1/10/12 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 47: Damon Hill, OBE - audio edition | With the 2011 F1 season finally at an end, we talk live in the studio with the 1996 World Champion, Damon Hill. The son of Graham Hill, OBE, the double World Champion who also won the Indy 500 and the Le Mans 24 Hours, Damon began his motor racing career relatively late and far from Prevailing Wisdom. Eschewing karts, Damon excelled on motor bikes before switching to Formula Ford and then Formula 3. It took a while for the establishment to recognize Damon as a great talent in his own right but the chance came with Sir Frank Williams in 1993, when Damon parlayed a Williams test contract into a full-time race drive. He was instantly on the pace of his esteemed team-mate, Alain Prost, and that year not only won his first Grand Prix but also the two that followed, giving him an amazing, opening hat-trick. Damon helped to steer the Rothmans Williams Renault team through the loss of Ayrton Senna in 1994 and thereafter fought closely with Michael Schumacher's Benetton, culminating in the infamy of Adelaide, 1994, when Schumacher drove into Hill when the World Championship was at stake. Damon received full payback in 1996, when he not only started every race from the front row but also won eight Grands Prix and the World Championship. Damon should have won in Hungary for Arrows in 1997 but did score one final victory for Jordan - in the wet at Spa, 1998, giving him a total of 22 wins, 20 poles and 19 fastest laps. Now recently retired as President of the British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC), and from playing a pivotal role in the status of Silverstone as the British GP venue, Damon is now actively behind the career of the third generation of Racing Hills - his son, Josh. Fast in Formula Ford and Formula Renault, Josh, like Damon in the late 1980s, is at that time in his career when nothing is certain but everything seems there for the taking. | 11/30/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 46: Macau GP Debrief; Brazilian GP Preview with Valtteri Bottas & Daniel Juncadella - audio edition | In the midst of a busy week for motor sport, we talk to two key men of the moment - AT&T Williams Reserve Driver, Valtteri Bottas, and Daniel Juncadella, winner of last Sunday's Macau Grand Prix. A protege of Mika Hakkinen, the 1998-99 F1 World Champion, Finland's Valtteri Bottas excelled in karts before graduating to single-seaters. Although Valtteri is the only driver ever to win two F3 Masters events, his Euro F3 season in 2010 was nonetheless difficult. He more than made up for that in 2011, however, with a brilliant win in the GP3 Championship. Valtteri also tested for Williams after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, matching the times of regular drivers Pastor Maldonado and Rubens Barrichello, before flying off to Macau to drive for the Galaxy Double-R team. Despite a late arrival, he was right on the pace and looking at a win when he make a small mistake and touched the wall. Daniel Juncadella went on to score a momentous victory in Macau, immediately elevating his standing not only in Spain but also on the world stage. Daniel is the product of a Spanish racing dynasty - two of his uncles (Alex Soler-Roig and Luis Perez-Sala) raced in F1 and a third - Jose Juncadella - was very fast in the 1970s with a Ferrari 512M (amongst other quick machinery) - but is very much his own man. | 11/23/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 45: Abu Dhabi GP Debrief with David Tremayne - audio edition | Our guest in the studio this week is David Tremayne, the noted F1 author and journalist. "DJT" during the golden days of "Motoring News", David has been covering all aspects and disciplines of motor sport for nearly 40 years. His work has appeared in magazines, newspapers, race programmes and special editions throughout the world and his books include "Nigel Mansell" and "The Lost Generation" (which chronicled the too-brief lives of Roger Williamson, Tony Brise and Tom Pryce). A world authority on land speed records, David has also written the definitive work on Donald Campbell. With David, we will be dissecting the Abu Dhabi GP, the 2011 F1 season - and much more besides. Also joining us live will be the very talented young English driver, James Calado. Having finished runner-up in this year's GP3 series, James made his mark on the world stage last Sunday not only by winning the GP2 sprint race in Abu Dhabi but also Pirelli's Eu 15,000 bonus for the best result by a GP2 rookie. | 11/16/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 44: Abu Dhabi GP Preview; Jaime Alguersuari - audio edition | 2011 was always going to be a big year in the life of Jaime Alguersuari - and he has stepped up to the plate with some superb drives into the points. The youngest driver ever to start a World Championship Grand Prix (Jaime was 19yrs, 125 days when he made his debut for Scuderia Toro Rosso in Hungary, 2009), Jaime has evolved into a consistent and fast racer. He qualified a brilliant seventh in China this year and then backed that up with a P6 in the changing conditions at Spa and then P10 in India. Jaime has also scored points in seven races so far this year, most recently in India, where he finished an excellent eighth. We spoke to Jaime at his home in Barcelona just prior to his departure for Abu Dhabi. He talks about his early days, the pressures that came with his F1 debut, his performances this year - and his love of music (specifically the music he mixes as one of Europe's most acclaimed house DJs). We are also joined live by the very experienced F1 composites engineer, Ian Thomson. With successful spells at Williams, Ferrari, Sauber and Super Aguri behind him, Ian is playing a major role in the new Moldex composites facility in India. Ian will be talking about the engineering styles and approaches of the various F1 teams and about India as a major new racing manufacturing base. | 11/9/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 43: Indian GP Debrief with ScarbsF1, Narain Karthikeyan & Alice Powell - audio edition | The Airtel Indian GP was more than just another "new frontier" F1 race: this was a game-changer. The Indians embraced F1; they loved F1 - and the potential, now, is huge. Part of the success story is due to the genesis of the Buddh Circuit, which is privately developed and owned by the sports-crazy JP Group. And part of it is due to the strength and passion of a handful of motor sport-loving Indians - the Chandhoks, Dr Vijay Mallya... and Narain Karthikeyan, who last Sunday became the first Indian ever to race in his national GP. He maximised his opportunity, too, matching his nearest competition for speed and finishing 17th, despite a lack of recent race and test mileage. And so now the fuse has been lit. 1.3bn Indians and a thriving economy are poised to adopt F1 as a part of the national culture. Can F1 deliver with follow-up promotion and media penetration? We are hoping to talk to Narain live in India about this and about his week, his race - and the future in general for Indian motor sport. Also joining us - fresh from her two podium finishes on the Buddh Circuit in the MRF Challenge race - will be 18-year-old Alice Powell, the uber-talented English girl who has been a front-runner in UK Formula Renault in 2011. How did she like India? How was she received? And what are her hopes and plans for the future? And as if all that is not enough, the hugely popular - and graphic - Craig Scarborough will also be making a welcome return to The Flying Lap studio to help us analyse the latest F1 developments. | 11/2/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 42: Nigel Mansell, OBE - audio edition | Our guest in Episode 42 is Nigel Mansell, the 1992 F1 World Champion and the winner of 31 Grands Prix. A hero still amongst F1 fans all over the world, Nigel rose to F1 the hard way - without sponsorship and without the early support of inner-circle British decision-makers. He had, though, a God-given talent and a cast iron determination to succeed; and, as such, he stands today as a model for all those with even a glint of ambition in their eyes. His season in 1980 was pivotal: he was quick in F3 but he was replaced in the March team mid-season when they hired a driver with money. He tested and raced occasionally for the new Ralt-Honda F2 team; and he worked long hours as a truck-driver/test driver at Team Lotus. Colin Chapman gave him an F1 chance first in Austria and then at Zandvoort. He drove the skin off those Lotus cars - and was rewarded with a full-time race drive for 1981. The rest is history. He switched to Williams in 1985, won his first race at Brands that year, joined Ferrari in 1989-90 and then returned to Williams in 1991. In 1992, setting records that still stand today, Mansell dominated the World Championship. As if that was not enough, Nigel went on to win the 1993 IndyCar World Series for Newman-Haas and almost to take the Indy 500 at his first attempt. A driver who didn't know the meaning of giving up - or of finishing second - Nigel in retirement has devoted much of his life to charitable causes, to his family - and to his second sporting love (golf). | 10/26/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 41: Sir Jackie Stewart - audio edition | In this special episode we talk to Sir Jackie Stewart, three-times World Champion and the winner of 27 Grands Prix for BRM and Tyrrell. A tireless campaigner for safety and charitable causes throughout his racing career, and in the years that followed his retirement in 1973, Sir Jackie is today acclaimed globally as one of the most significant figures in the history of our sport. In the aftermath of the shocking accident in Las Vegas that cost the life of Dan Wheldon, he talks about lessons that can be learned in all disciplines of the sport - and about the F1 politics over the years that, astonishingly, have led to Sir Jackie never being asked to take a formal role (in the area of safety) within the sport. Despite that omission, there is no doubt that no single individual has done more for the safety of drivers, pit crew and spectators. We talk about his favourite cars, his most "harmonious" races, his own mental approach to racing, about the current F1 stars, about Red Bull Racing - a team he originated in Milton Keynes - and about the searching question he asked of Ayrton Senna early in 1990, now made famous by the "Senna" movie . Candid and open, Sir Jackie also talks about his battle with dyslexia and his spiritual beliefs. | 10/19/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 40: Japanese GP Debrief; Korean GP Preview - audio edition | In Ep 40 of The Flying Lap this week we'll be covering a lot of ground as we look back at the Japanese GP and ahead to Korea with two F1 experts from very different parts of the world. Live from Melbourne, Australia, where he will have just stepped off the flight from Nagoya, the highly-acclaimed Australian journalist, Matthew Clayton, will be giving us his personal view of events in Suzuka. Matt has worked for the Australian Grand Prix Corporation for several years, is close to Mark Webber and happens also to be a tennis and cricket writer/author in his spare time. Then, live from the SpeedTV studios in Charlotte, North Carolina, Sean Kelly will be looking back, as a statistician, at the achievements of the 2010/11 World Champion, Sebastian Vettel, and his formidable Red Bull Racing team. A closet Aussie V8 fan, we're sure Sean will also have something to say about the Bathurst race that took place just before (and into, time-wise!) the Japanese GP. As a special bonus, we will also be meeting Al Gibson at the ArtLondon Fair, where recently he exhibted his amazing, F1-inspired carbon sculptures. Chief Mechanic at BAR-Honda when Jenson Button won his first F1 race, Al also has plenty to say about Jenson's most recent of Grand Prix victories. | 10/12/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 39: Japanese GP preview with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes' Pedro de la Rosa - audio edition | Although it was designed as long ago as 1962, Suzuka Circuit is today considered to be an all-time classic. And few drivers know it better than McLaren's Third Driver, Pedro de la Rosa. Between 1995 and 1997, Pedro won no fewer than 16 F3/F3000/GT races in Japan - many of them at Suzuka. In Episode 39 of The Flying Lap, we invite Pedro to talk us through the amazing Suzuka lap in fine detail and to capture the magic that is racing in Japan. We'll also be discussing the current status of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes as Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button take on the might of Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro. | 10/5/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 38: Singapore Debrief with Craig Scarborough & Timo Glock - audio edition | The SingTel Singapore GP was another Seb Vettel classic. Jenson Button set fastest lap towards the end of the race in his McLaren-Mercedes but Red Bull's World Champion otherwise stole all the stats. He won the pole, he quickly disappeared from the pack and he led every lap. Behind, other races-within-races were taking place. Jenson Button won the battle for second place and Mark Webber beat Fernando Alonso into the lower podium position. What was it like, though, for the drivers in less competitive cars? Timo Glock, lead driver for Marussia Virgin F1, joins us live from Germany to discuss his weekend in Singapore, his season to date - and the team's new technical partnership with McLaren. We also discuss technical developments with the excellent Craig Scarborough, a familiar face on The Flying Lap and an engineer-journalist respected the full length of the F1 pit-lane for his attention to detail, constant creativity and lucid descriptions of the complicated. | 9/28/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 37: Singapore GP Preview with Bruno Senna & Sean Kelly - audio edition | The F1 circus moves to the Jewel of the Orient this weekend for the night race at Singapore. Bruno Senna, nephew of Ayrton, raced there last year for Hispania but in 2011 he returns with a much more competitive car - the Lotus-sponsored Renault R31. As we look ahead at this unique event, Bruno recalls his first two races for LRGP at Spa and Monza, where, under pressure to prove himself after nearly a year on the sidelines, he out-qualified his team-mate first time out and then scored his maiden World Championship points. A winner in F BMW, F3 and GP2, and now on the threshold of a successful F1 career, Bruno Senna not only displays the poise worthy of his name but also the talent and aggression of which is uncle would have been proud. We also take a detailed look at Singapore - at this spectacular street circuit and its data trends - with the expert guidance of Sean Kelly, the world's pre-eminent F1 statistician. A regular at Speed TV, Sean in addition supplies statistics and real-time information to 13 other TV networks around the world. | 9/21/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 36: Italian GP de-brief with Derek and Conor Daly - audio edition | The 2011 Santander Italian Grand Prix at Monza was kaleidoscope of accidents, high-speed passes and contentious defence. No-one is better qualified to reflect on the weekend's events than Derek Daly, the FIA F1 Driver Steward for the weekend. We look in detail at the first corner accident triggered by HRT's Vitantonio Liuzzi; Derek gives us his views on the Michael Schumacher/Lewis Hamilton battle; and we re-examine the brilliance of the World Champion, RBR's Sebastian Vettel. Conor Daly, fresh from an amazing run to sixth place in the GP3 on Saturday (from 17th on the grid) talks about his season with Carlin Motorsport, his success in the US this year in Indy Lights - and what life is like for a young American driver on the F1 trail. | 9/13/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 35: Italian GP Preview with Romain Grosjean & ScarbsF1 - audio edition | Romain Grosjean, the newly-crowned GP2 Champion and Reserve Driver for Lotus Renault GP, is our guest on Ep 35 of The Flying Lap. A driver of enormous talent at the forefront of the new French resurgence in top-line motor sport, Romain won in Formula Renault before clinching the 2007 F3 Euroseries with the legendary ASM team. Instantly quick in GP2, winning the 2008 Asia series for ART (ASM) and two rounds of the GP2 Main Series, he switched to the Spanish Barwa Addax team for 2009. Romain won the feature races at Barcelona and Monaco before being invited to replace Nelson Piquet in the Renault F1 team, debuting in the European Grand Prix at Valencia. Romain's graduation was not easy and for 2010 he found himself in a position of having to re-invent his career in lower-profile GT and AutoGP events. These were difficult times, but the Frenchman showed enormous strength of character - so much so that DAMS invited him to stand-in for Jerome d'Ambrosio at Hockenheim. Romain quickly demonstrated his customary pace - but combined that with an altogether different, more worldly-wise attitude. He continued with DAMS in 2011, winning both the Asia and Main Series and now again finds himself on the crest of the F1 wave. As we look ahead to the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, we are also joined in the studio by the inimitable Craig Scarborough. Can Red Bull Racing continue to dominate as they did at Spa? Craig will talk us through the technical pros and cons. | 9/6/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

TFL 34: Belgian GP Debrief with Adrian Sutil - audio edition | A classic Belgian GP resulted in yet another one-two finish for Red Bull Racing - the team's tenth. This, though, was a race with a difference. A small window of dry-weather running on Saturday placed a premium on Pirelli tyre management on Sunday; there were eight lead changes in the first 18 laps. Vodafone McLaren Mercedes' Jenson Button carved his way through the field from 13th to the podium; Michael Schumacher, celebrating the 20th anniversary in F1, became the sixth successive driver to score points after being eliminated in Q1; and Force India's Adrian Sutil was in the points again, this time climbing from 15th to an excellent seventh. Live from Switzerland, Adrian joins us to talk about this amazing race - the usual first-corner dramatics, the tyre situation, his battles with Schumacher and Lotus Renault's Vitaly Petrov - and about his love for this most historic of F1 venues. | 8/31/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

And, two days after his brace of podium finishes at Silverstone WSR - and only four before he returns to F1 to race for HRT at Spa - F1's most talked-about star of the future, Daniel Ricciardo, joins us live to talk about his meteoric career, his hopes and his goals.
