How big is too big? Amazon's omnipresence earns success – and scrutiny
If you bought anything online recently, there's a good chance you shopped on Amazon. The tech giant's success has made it synonymous with e-commerce. But it's also long faced scrutiny over its business practices. Now, Amazon is facing a lawsuit from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, accusing it of illegally protecting a monopoly over online retail. The company denies the allegations. Wall Street Journal reporter Dana Mattioli has been covering Amazon for years. Piya Chattopadhyay speaks with her about how Amazon became the behemoth it is today, as explored in her book The Everything War: Amazon's Ruthless Quest to Own Everything and Remake Corporate Power.

The Sunday Magazine - Piya is the Best
Over the years, anytime Piya was covering for The Current, Q, As It Happens, any other CBC program or special event I immediately made a note of it and tuned in to listen.
A big fan of Out In The Open, I was thrilled when Piya took over the coveted Sunday morning time slot from Michael Enright (when he retired).
Piya’s professional journalistic aptitude, personable interview style, in depth topical subject matter, positive outlook and pleasant demeanour is refreshing especially in these challenging times.
I look forward to listening to her program LIVE on Sunday mornings and will often revisit highlighted interviews of interest again in the podcast format during the week when out walking, hiking or cycling.
Piya is a good human, sensitive, compassionate and kind, a warm hearted Sunday morning companion; I really look forward to her show.

Bring back Enright
I’m sure I would have given this program a better chance if it wasn’t the replacement for Enright files. It’s too airy, it’s not thought-provoking, there is not enough in-depth discussion to fill Enright’s shoes. I don’t know what the producers were thinking. I wish CBC would at least make his show available as a podcast so we can relive the good old days
