Too many ads
I have listened to this podcast for years and I have enjoyed it. I liked the long form, in depth discussion and the relaxed tone of the podcast. I am dropping it now because of the ads. I think it's fine to have advertising and I realize it is necessary in order to pay the bills. Unfortunately, I have been quite dismayed lately by both the increase in the number of them and by their inappropriateness. It used to be that the ads were mostly tech related and the breaks for them were not too long. Now they are for all sorts of odd items; food, gold buyers - the list goes on and on. And they go on and on. I have never wished so fervently for a 30 seconds forward button that I could bang on when they start. The annoyance factor has overtaken the enjoyment for me.
That's it.
Great show
Apple centric but Gene always has great guests. Highly recommend the show.
Tech night owl live is seriously great!
I have been listening to Gene Steinberg for about 3 months or so; its a long podcast, usually 2 hours, with humor and heart and soul. Its pretty much the only thing I want to play on my commute - always good info, always about the Apple world and its a classy show. Good people doing a good thing, lots of info, some ads, but they are all for good stuff, so they dont jar. HIGHLY recommended ****** - its a six star rating, thats six out of five! Gene has a great radio voice, the guests are cool and varied - you can hear Daniel Eran Dilger from RoughlyDrafted.com, for example. In a crazy world, heres a voice of sanity and intelligence. Dont even THINK of touching that dial....
