Podcast Description
A curious collection of audio podcasts featuring various artists on their philosophies, background, tips, and dreams. Some are more focused on the practical side of "making it" as an artist, others are highlighting some really interesting creativity, and others focus more on opinions. With this variety, there is a common theme where each episode of Art Leaks focuses on some element of ART, FAITH, and SOCIAL JUSTICE. PS - TribeHouse is an artist collective interested in creating a culture of collaboration and conversation about the mystery of faith, arts, and justice. As a collective, we value quality art of all disciplines, collaboration rather than competition, and the development of integrity as artists. Our goal is to cultivate a culture of grassroots creativity that uses the arts to not only make a social justice impact but also facilitate a conversation about the mystery of how faith, arts and justice collide. With a large emphasis on supporting independent artists of all kinds through events in the virtual & non-virtual world, we are intentional about working to support each other in our projects as well as sharing our resources for the greater good of the community.

Art Leaks #8 - Cara Luft | We tried a little experiment with road warrior, Juno Award winner, and laughing snorter Cara Luft where we captured a Skype interview with her on the topic of house concerts. Apart from being a stellar musician and singer/songwriter, she has played hundreds of house concerts all over the globe. With TribeHouse kicking around the idea of building a house concert network, we had to glean from her wisdom & thought we might as well share it with the inter-earth (you). Cara has some great info for house concert promoters (hosts) which we'll post here for you and in this interview she shares a ton of helpful tips for musicians just getting into this whole house concert thing. Topics like "How much should you make at a typical gig", "How to find the best venues", and "Are there any other useful sites out there that can help get gigs". | 9/9/11 | Free | View In iTunes |

Art Leaks #1 - Carrie Harper and her iPad covers | Well, the other day, I got a Facebook message from a rad local visual artist (Carrie Harper from the Pear Workshop) saying “You won an art skin for an iPhone 4″. Sick. It was such a creative idea and way for a visual artist to make money that I had to interview her and find out some more about who she is. What an amazingly creative artist who is mixing good old fashioned paint and pieces of books then converting them to be displayed on iPads and iPhone covers. Brilliant. | 6/28/11 | Free | View In iTunes |
