Abandoned Sounds 1998-2008 (Remastered)

A great collection of hard to get tracks from Sonnenvakuum.

     

A few years have past since the last official Sonnenvakuum release, as they worked for the follow up project named "Sonic Cube" since 2006.
This is the first re-release of some of their best work released between 1998-2008 on various compilations worldwide. Many of these tracks were hard to get, as some of the labels who originally released the work of Sonnenvakuum went out of business.

Track 1 "Vibes" is the last release from these guys , and you can already hear the influence of "Sonic Cube" sounds. Melodic and deep track with a nice groove.
Track 2 "Who am i?" is a twisted and moody, dark piece of music. Not like the hard and dark stuff from nowadays, but still something remarkable.
Track 3 "Shame" sounds again more like "Vibes", a nice groove and wide open space kind of track.
Track 4 "Floating Point Emotion" takes you on a mellow and groove trip during it's seven minutes playtime. For me one of the highlights of this album.
Track 5 "Firefly" continues in the manner of track 4 with a nice and deep feel and great bassline.
Track 6 "Jack Thursby" a really unique and wonderful track with great sounds that wont be forgotten quickly.
Track 7 "Sky" is also a softer track, not one of my favourites, but still groove and dancefloor ready.
Track 8 "Subminimal" could be the best known track on the album, as it has been used on the annual "Trancers Guide to the Galaxy" compilation to represent the Swiss trance scene.
Track 9 "Rejected" is a firework of energy and mindbuggling sounds, a typical Sonnenvakuum track how we love it.
Track 10 "Pornodelica" has originaly been released as a collaboration between Soul Surfer (Anders Nillsen) and Sonic Cube. Here we have the Sonnenvakuum remix which delivers a lot more energy that the original tune. Also one of my favourites.
Track 11 "Burn and Rave" continues with high energy and dark sounds and could also be played at some Gothic parties as it's not far away from that genre.
Track 12 "A Part of Yourself" again a powerful and driving piece of electronic music.
Track 13 "Noyzeboyz" was their liveset smasher for years. Not sure if it works for home listening, but the crowd went wilde everytime that track had been played.

Overall a great release together with the lovely booklet that includes a lot of inside informations for every track. If you are a fan of Sonnenvakuum sound, you should get it :)
