Albenrezension
This 20-track compilation of tracks from the Sonar Kollektiv label archive runs the gamut from coffeehouse R&B to jazz-house to more experimental electronics. What unites them generally is SK's high level of quality, and specifically, Jazzanova's unequaled ear for what sounds great in a mix of '80s-influenced R&B and post-disco. Virtually all of the mix is free-form, mostly vocal-led, and a mixture of organic or electronics on the rhythm end — waves of synths are as common as acoustic guitar picking. It's a tribute to Jazzanova's talents that, in this context, Sonar Kollektiv releases sound even better than they do individually, led by one chestnut that actually did source from the '80s: "I Just Wanna Sing for You" by Norman Weeks & the Revelations.

Ist okay
Da ich fast alle Alben besitze, die Jazzanova herausgegeben hat, durfte auch dieses nicht fehlen. Ohne großes Reinhören war ich mir sicher, Jazzanova ist Garant für anspruchsvolle elektronische Musik. Die Scheibe ist auch gut. Vor allem der erste Part gefällt mir sehr. Zum Ende hin wird mir die ganze Geschichte allerdings zu hart. Im Großen und Ganzen ist die "Scheibe" okay. Bemerkenswert ist vor allem die Experimentierfreude!
Schöner SonarKollektiv- Querschnitt
Mit "Broadcasting" begeht das Berliner Produzentenkollektiv Jazzanova das fünfjährige Jubiläum ihrer Radiosendung, die u.a. auf Radio Multikulti oder dem WDR Funkhaus Europa läuft. Dabei sind hier einige Vertreter des Hauslabels, u.a. Soul Phiction, Fat Freddy´s Drop oder Clara Hill. Schon diese drei Namen versprechen die breite Palette an Sounds, für die Jazzanova´s Sets auch bekannt sind. Alles in allem ein sehr gelungener, schöner Querschnitt durch aktuelle und auch etwas klassischere Releases von SonarKollektiv.
