Following in the footsteps of Nation 2 Nation and World 2 World, Galaxy 2 Galaxy again focuses Underground Resistance on a jazzy style of techno featuring heavy atmospheric synths. But where the earlier two records failed to effectively integrate horns into the futuristic techno motifs, the song "Hi-Tech Jazz" on Galaxy 2 Galaxy finally succeeds, resulting in a beautiful marriage of jazz and techno — a feat rarely achieved in the man versus machine world of techno. The B-side of the record features two songs — "Journey of the Dragons" and "Star Sailing" — that perfectly bring together an airy percussive backdrop and beautiful synth arrangements. "Star Sailing" also manages to work in some acoustic piano and a driving flute riff to reaffirm the song's jazz motif. The remainder of the record includes more synth-heavy light techno, but it doesn't compare to the first refreshing 12" in the double pack.
