Düsteres Synthie-Meisterwerk
Es wird polarisieren das neue Album von den Editors, aber das sind die besten Alben!! Ein mutiges Album haben Sie aufgenommen. Ein Album ohne Mainstream Hits, und doch voller grossartiger Songs wie Bricks and motar, Eat Raw Meat=Blood Drool, Papillon, The Boxer, My life as a ghost. Die Editors werden immer besser und sie s******n auf Erwartungshaltung. Ich höre Sie jetzt schon alle klagen: Oh, wo sind die Gitarren, oh jetzt sind sie nicht mehr Joy Division sondern Depeche Mode. Aber wenn Sie so klingen wie Sie jetzt klingen, klingen Sie fpnf mal frischer und besser als das letzte Depeche Mode Album und wesentlich interessanter als all die Maximo parks, Arctic monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs und Bloc Partys dieser Welt. Dunkel aber Großartig!!!
Lange habe ich auf dieses Album gewartet. Einen Vorgeschmack auf dieses Album habe ich bereits dieses Jahr in Aschaffenburg erhalten, als die Editors im Colossaal spielten. Ich wusste, es wird großartig und nun ist es soweit und ich bin begeistert. Für mich sind sie so gut wie nie und ich vermisse die Gitarren hier nicht. Ich liebe alle Songs, besonders Bricks and motar, Eat Raw Meat, Papillon, The Boxer, My life as a ghost. Jede Sekunde des Wartens hat sich gelohnt. Köln kann kommen :-) Yeah!!

So löblich der Wille zur Erneuerung ist: In diesem Fall ist das Ergebnis einfach grauenhaft.
Unmotiviertes Synthiegedudel, gequälter Singsang, aber kaum eine Melodie die im Ohr hängen bleibt.
Schade, die Editors hatten mal das Potential zur Lieblingsband...
