Most of the Pet Shop Boys' albums are well-crafted and thoroughly intriguing in their own right, but dance-pop is a medium that is driven by hit singles. Discography collects all the duo's numerous hit singles, including a handful of non-album tracks, in their original 7" single mix, which occasionally varies from the album version, particularly in the case of the Introspective material. Presented chronologically, the singles not only demonstrate the band's increasing musical sophistication, they illustrate what fine songwriters Tennant and Lowe are. These 18 songs form one of the most consistent and innovative bodies of work of its era. Some of the production techniques have dated slightly, but the music has remained impressive.

Schöne Sammlung der besten Singles.

Dies war mein erstes Album der Pet Shop Boys und es hat mir viele Jahre Freude bereitet. Das Booklet ist auch sehr umfangreich. Wer 18 Singles der Pet Shop Boys Songs auf einer Scheibe haben will ist hier genau richtig und vor allem ist hier "Was it worth it" dabei ein Spitzensong, ala Go West, der sonst nirgends mit dabei ist. Das ist ein wirkliches Best-Of-Album, wie es der Kunde sich wünscht. Mit dem Album Discography haben Pet Shop Boys die kompletten Singles zum veröffentlichten Zeitpunkt auf ein Album gepackt. Wenn man sich andere Best-Of-Alben ansieht, dann fehlen immer wieder einzelne bekannte Stücke. Hier findet man von 1985 bis 1991 alle erschienenen Singles. Komplett, nicht neu abgemischt, sondern einfach so, wie sie erschienen sind. Nicht nur für Fans der Pet Shop Boys sondern auch für alle, die den 80er-Jahre-Pop mögen. Bei weitem kein lieblos agemischtes Erlebnis, sondern kreativ gestaltete Musik.
