The 20th anniversary of Project Pitchfork's debut album, Dhyani, may have arrived in 2011, but Project Pitchfork do not spend too much time resting on their laurels: only one year after their last record, Continuum Ride, and a few months after their retrospective release First Anthology, the band and its mastermind, Peter Spilles, offer a new album titled Quantum Mechanics. The ten new tracks (only one of which runs under five minutes, while the single "Lament" clocks in at seven and a half) continue the band's dark electro sound, with atmospheric synths and Spilles' processed vocals over club-oriented beats. The book-sized limited edition adds a second CD with two new songs, three remixes, and an instrumental track.

Endlich!
Endlich, dass trifft es in meinen Augen am besten. Endlich wieder ein Album im Stile der früheren Alben. Nachdem ich den Alben, welche Daimonion folgten nichts abgewinnen konnte und somit Pitchfork ein wenig aus den Augen verloren hatte, holt einen dieses nun wieder zurück. Nun werden wieder einige meckern, von wegen zu kommerziell, zu tanzbar, nicht experimentell genug. Aber mir gefällt die Scheibe, auch wenn sie mit 10 Tracks nicht wirklich lang ausfällt.
