Dickes plus für das Gesamtkonzept, ein kleines für die neuen Instrumente, Minus für’s neue Design

Für einen einfachen„Homerecordler“ wie mich bemisst sich der Wert einer Software daran, wie sehr sie ihm hilft, seine musikalischen Ideen Wirklichkeit werden zu lassen. Ich habe mit mehreren Programmen gearbeitet über die Jahre, zuletzt mit Cubase. Die Garageband war in Sachen Geschwindigkeit der Ideenumsetzung, teilweise auch des Klangs einiger Instrumente, für mich ein Meilenstein! Schnelle, intuitive Bedienung und klanglich ein Resultat, das man für Freunde auch mal auf CD brennen kann. Das ist für mich der Wert der GarageBand. Zur aktuellen Version:
Das Design hat sich geändert - für mich ein Minuspunkt. Die Schlagzeuger sind lebendiger geworden, das halte ich als eigentlich Schlagzeuger, der unter maschinenhaften Drumsequenzen immer schon gelitten hat, für ein dickes Plus (Für meinen Geschmack allerdings etwas zuviel Schmuckwerk: Weniger ist mehr). Ich benutze die Drummer, spiele aber dann meine eigenen Tracks auf zusätzlichen Spuren ein. Es sind einige interessante Instrumente hinzugekommen (klassisches Schlagwerk), nicht alle sind gelungen und nur wenige besitzen eine „Seele“ (mein Favorit : Die chinesische Eidhu). Über fertige Loops und Sequenzerpassagen kann man geteilter Meinung sein. Ich finde einige hilfreich als Inspirationsquellen, vermeide sie aber eher. Unterm Strich vier Sterne wert.

Update von Loops klappt nicht

Download der neuen GarageBand-Loop-Aktualisierungen 1.0 aus AppleStore. Sie laden stundenlang herunter, werden mit Fehlermeldung am Ende aber nicht gespeichert, bzw. nicht in GarageBand eingefügt. Ich habe es bestimmt ein Dutzend Mal versucht, wenn AppStore wieder und wieder die Aktualisierung anbot. Das ist nicht mehr akzeptabel. Ich verlange jetzt Hilfe von Apple oder dem verantwortlichen Entwickler. Ich schwöre auf Apple und meine Macs, empfehle seit einem Vierteljahrhundert jedem nur MACs, aber in der letzten Zeit ist Apple sehr phlegmatisch. Das gilt auch für ältere Iphone-Modelle, die plötzlich nicht mehr gespeicherte Dateien, vor allem Fotos per Bluetooth auf meinen iMac hochladen. Ich hatte sieben MACs und habe sie alle noch, und dies innerhalb von 23 Jahren. M.S.

Aufm Mac Book ein wenig schwer zu bedienen

Ich persönlich finde Garageband eine wirklich gute gelungene App zum Musik machen/aufnehmen. Jedoch muss ich sagen, dass ich die Verison auf dem Mac Book ziemlich unübersichtlich finde und ich damit noch nicht wirlich klar komme. Da muss man sich ordentlich reinfuchsen, was ich sehr schwierig finde, da ich eingentlich gerne eigene Musik machen wollen würde. Damit müsste ich mich mehr auseinander setzten.
Ich habe auf dem Handy mit der App einiges gemacht und finde die einfach nur super :D kann ich nur weiterempfehlen. nur wie oben auf dem Mac, ist das ganze noch ausbaufähig, was die Bedienung angeht.
