| 1 | ExplicitVideoHOW TO FEEL FULLY ALIVE | I want to share with you something I find pretty surprising which so many seem to experience on Cura Romana. To be fully alive you must be who you in essence are. For who you truly are is far more interesting, vital and exciting than anything or anyone you might aspire to be. Sadly, this fact is one most of us forget. Thanks to the diencephalic changes taking place via the autonomic nervous system to body, brain and hormones, the CURA ROMANA JOURNEY is a time in which we seem to be offered the finest opportunity I have ever come across to connect with the true nature of our own being, if, of course, we choose to take it. On a physiological level alone the changes in the appetite and fat control center in the brain seem to invite this kind of transformation. Let me tell you a little bit about this center in the brain. In Simeons’ words: “Buried deep down in the massive human brain there is a part which we have in common with all vertebrate animals, the so-called diencephalon. The diencephalon is the part from which the central nervous system controls all the automatic animal functions of the body, such as breathing, the heart beat, digestion, sleep, sex, the urinary system, the autonomous or vegetative nervous system and via the pituitary the whole interplay of the endocrine glands.” The Cura Romana transformations no doubt begin as physiological and functional alterations in diencephalic functioning. Yet why they happen so much more easily on the Cura Romana we use now than they did on the original one, I don't yet understand. Has it to do with the vibrational nature of the Essential Spray which, together with the dietary protocol, may be affecting not only the physicality of the body but also its energetic aspects? These are a few of the questions I keep asking myself. In another of Simeons’ books Man’s Presumptuous Brain, he explores interesting conflicts which often take place in civilized man between the primitive, instinctual diencephalon area of the brain and our highly developed cerebral cortex from which we do our rational thinking. These are conflicts, Simeons points out, which often result in illness. I suspect that Cura Romana helps create a finer balance between our cool, rational conscious mind and our rich, primitive and instinctual animal nature, thereby creating greater harmony between body and mind. For we live in a cerebral, intellectual culture which pays too little attention to the importance of connecting with our essential being—our soul, if you like. Then so many of our potentials for expanded consciousness, tapping higher levels of insight, joy and bliss, too often remain dormant. | 2 | ExplicitVideoSTUNNING NEW SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ON CURA ROMANA | Terrific new scientific research has been published regarding Simeons’ protocol. I’m excited about sharing it with you. It was more than half a century ago that the brilliant British doctor ATW Simeons published revolutionary information in the British medical publication The Lancet. Since then, despite hundreds of thousands of people who have followed Cura Romana and continue to sing its praises, aggressive attacks from commercial interests still portray Simeons’ work as fraudulent. In fact, so determined have the powers-that-be been to discredit Simeons’ work that they continue to create massive confusion about the protocol, to publish distortions about how it was used, and spread misinformation and disinformation about what it is and how it works. Nonetheless, here’s the great news: Some recent, well-designed and responsibly carried out research has been published in The International Journal of Medical Sciences. It confirms that Simeons’ protocol is every bit as fast, safe and effective for weightloss as Simeons reported. Even more exciting, researchers carrying out the preliminary study discovered that the program carries significant positive side effects. By now everybody knows that being overweight is associated with an increased risk of developing many serious conditions, from diabetes to cardiovascular disease and the medical parameters associated with them—raised lipid profiles, high blood glucose, elevated triglycerides, poor HDL and LDL ratios, and other functional distortions in the body. In Simeons’ 1971 revision of his revolutionary book, Pounds and Inches, he listed many health-enhancing side effects of Cura Romana. Here are just a few: lowered blood pressure reversal of gout lowered cholesterol levels restoration of good hormonal balance reversal of diabetes The researchers who carried out this new preliminary study measured blood chemistry pre and post the diet and confirm many of Simeons’ own findings. Their positive results even go beyond the benefits Simeons wrote about. They examined such things as the way in which improvements in body composition on the protocol affects the number of stem/progenitor cells in circulation, for instance. They report in the Abstract: During this dieting program, the following parameters were assessed weekly for all participants: fat free mass, body fat, BMI, extracellular/intracellular water, total body water and basal metabolic rate. For part of participants, blood chemistry parameters and circulating CD34-positive cells were determined before and after dieting. The data indicated that the treatments not only reduced body fat mass and total mass but also improved the lipid profile. The changes in body composition correlated with the level of lipoproteins responsible for the increased cardiovascular risk factors. I celebrate researchers having carried out this study. It is highly unlikely that any pharmaceutical company will ever follow suit, since to discover the real power of Cura Romana would seriously undermine the billions in revenue they collect each year in so-called weightloss products. What I find most exciting of all about this study is that, while pharmaceutical companies keep on manufacturing powerful drugs that carry serious side effects, for many following Simeons’ protocol, cardiovascular health improves naturally from inside out as a consequence of following his Cura Romana protocol to the letter. Lots of you who have completed the program would like to stay in touch and, as you continue to unfold on your life-long Cura Romana Journey, I would be delighted to tell you all about my latest insights and discoveries. I finally succumbed to the pressure and decided to have a go at writing a blog. The only problem being that I had little idea what a blog was and less idea how to begin writing one. So I looked it up on Wikipedia. A blog, I was told, is “a portmanteau of the term web log—a personal journal published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete entries (“posts”) typically displayed in reverse chronological order so the most recent post appears first.” A what? Portmanteau? Discrete entries? It didn’t tell me a lot. So I sat down and tried to figure out how to start. What do I write about? The answer that came to me was, “Write about what you care most about, about what fascinates you, excites you, delights you and infuriates you. Write about what you believe others should know about yet they might not be aware of.” So one day, about three weeks ago, I began. What surprised me was how easy it was to write about these things. I guess it is always easy to write about what you feel passionate about—like sleep (do any of us get enough of it?); mind-body bliss; beauty; common medical practices that are dangerous to the body; and the power, ecstasy, and joy of exercise when you discover the kind you love. | 6 | ExplicitVideoFAT IS NOT YOUR FAULT | When it comes to a chronically overweight or obese body, the normal mechanisms of fat storage and fat burning have become grossly distorted. Simeons liked to describe this phenomenon using a simile which likens body fat to money: Our essential fat supply—the structural and reserve fats—are like our possessions: homes, cars, gold, money, belongings. The inessential fat which the body stores should behave as excess income. It would be great if it did—if we were able to draw on it for energy whenever we needed it. But in the case of someone overweight or who gains weight easily, a distortion in the body’s fat management system prevents their being able to turn this fat into energy. Instead, it gets locked away in what Simeons refers to as a “deposit account”, rendering the potential energy it holds unavailable. The implications of this are vast. For an overweight man or woman this creates a situation in which, although he or she feels hungry, much of what is eaten in an attempt to quell that hunger gets turned into fat and stashed away beyond reach. Like every plant which has long been used as a food source, Stevia is a complex of synergistic substances and compounds including numerous steviosides, rebaudiosides, and glycosides. However, no genuinely independent studies have been done to affirm the safety of the product. And as even the Truvia website itself states: “While rebiana is natural and comes from a plant, it is not certified or grown organically at this time. That could happen in the future, depending on consumer demand.” How absurd. | 9 | ExplicitVideoBeware Mammograms | The “gold standard” “life-saving” tool for protecting women from the ravages of breast cancer by providing an early warning—mammograms—has been sold to us for years. It is a practice which is supposed to protect us from death as a result of malignancy. So powerful is the pro-mammogram lobby within the medical establishment that we have come to believe if we do not have regular scans we are being completely irresponsible. After all, mammograms save lives don’t they? Researchers at Dartmouth in the United States decided to check out these assumptions. They wanted to find out how often lives actually are saved by mammography. They examined breast cancer data from The National Cancer Institute and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They found out that the probability of a mammogram saving a life is well below 25%. They concluded that “Most women with screen-detected breast cancer have not had their life saved by screening. They are instead either diagnosed early (with no effect on their mortality) or over-diagnosed.” But, there’s more: the annual mammograms which we are urged to have actually expose us to serious cancer-causing radiation that may shorten our lives. Here’s the gen: 50% of the breast cancer “diagnoses” doctors now make from mammograms are not in reality cancer at all. The physical and emotional damage of these “false positive” diagnoses fill people’s lives with fear. Personally I have never had a mammogram. Why? Because my gut feeling has always said “no”. This was long before we had a growing accumulation of clinical evidence showing that the 30kVp range of “low-energy” radiation used in breast screenings is up to 400% more damaging to human DNA (read 400% more carcinogenic) than the so-called “high-energy” radiation which it is often compared to. Obesity is not a disorder caused by lack of exercise. Obesity is not caused by overeating or lack of will power. It is a state of excess fat accumulation as a result of some, as yet officially unidentified, disequilibrium in the hormonal regulation of fat metabolism. | 15 | ExplicitVideoWho Created Cura Romana | Alfred Theodore William Simeons, MD, was among the most gifted medical researchers of the twentieth century. Born in London in 1900, he graduated summa cum laude in medicine from Heidelberg University. After postgraduate studies in Germany and Switzerland, he took up an appointment at a large hospital in Dresden where he began to study tropical diseases. He joined the School of Tropical Medicine in Hamburg, became fascinated by the subject, then spent two years in Africa. There he invented a method for identifying the various strains of malarial parasites in the blood which became known as Simeons' Stain. It is still used today for the same purpose. Simeons also discovered the injectable antimalarial drug atebrin, which is still used to treat the disease. Simeons' contributions to medicine were so significant that the Queen decorated him with the Red Cross Order of Merit for his achievements. Not until January 1954 did Simeons tell the medical world about his unique method for the treatment of obesity in a paper published in the Lancet. His report triggered a tsunami of controversy, misinformation and confusion which, even now -- more than half a century on -- continues to rage.
