Then Twunes is perfect for you! Share via Twitter what you're listening to right now on iTunes and customize your tweet with a lot of options! :-)
- artist & song title always included
- optionally include the album title
- optionally include a link to the song at the iTunes Store or at lastFM
- optionally #hashtag the artist (unique feature)
- optionally crosspost your tweet to Facebook via "Selective Tweet" Facebook app
- optionally include the de facto standard #nowplaying hashtag
- various options for the tweet's prefix (like "Listening to ..." or "My iTunes plays ...")
- Twunes displays your album cover, too (if available)

This version (2.2.2) is functionally identical to the last available free version 2.2.1. Expect new features (like adding your own text to the tweet) starting with version 2.3 which will only be available here on the App Store.

Finally!! :-) Awesome! :-)
I was always looking for a way to tweet about what I'm listening to on my Mac in iTunes.
And Twunes really does a wonderful job here! I like especially the hashtag-the-artist-feature that's unique to Twunes.
Because I like my menu bar area as clean as possible on my small screen I'm happy that Twunes isn't just ANOTHER menu bar app!
Additionally, I like that Twunes can't auto-tweet. I like to be selective about my music and don't want my Twitter followers (and the Twitter servers) to be spammed. So, personally, I don't need an auto-update feature.
Also, Twunes seems to be quite solid. Never crashed or hung or showed other kind of strange behaviour.
Being able to add a few personal words into the tweet would be fine, though. That's my only wish for the next version. :-)
Nice, few suggestions...
Nice, but I have a few suggestions:
- Add option for custom prefixes. Not everyone wants a music note in front of their tweets.
- Add option for any combination of 'Artist", "Album" and "Track", allowing users to just post: Listening to {Artist} OR Listening to {Artist} {Album}. Also, iTunes links are not accurate.
Check out the iPhone/iPod app "In The Mood" - it executes this perfectly.

Has this been tested with Lion? App is not working, and no help from developer
It stopped working today, don't know why, when it worked it worked great
