Brother-and-sister duo Pimpinela, who sold over 20 million copies worldwide by translating the kitsch universe of Latin American soap operas into music, are back with their 23rd album, Estamos Todos Locos! As they have grown older, Pimpinela have wisely mixed their camp melodrama with humor, and tried their best to remain as up to date as possible. This release offers plenty of both, from the amusing pumped-up cumbia title track that mentions social networks, reality shows, and Botox fever to the brash theatrics of "Yo Quiero un Hombre de Verdad," a typical Pimpinela track revamped with a dance-electro arrangement.
