A Previously Unreleased Collection From The Godfaher of Ska Archives

Superstar compiles a collection of previously unreleased gems, giving a new dimension to The Godfather of Ska image, not only with the Ska and Reggae sound but also into Soul and Funk. So on, we can find Superstar, a song that, after the last events, becomes highly nostalgic, with that mid-tempo soul taste. Also into the Soul culture we can find the stompers If You Need Good Loving Tonight and Dance To The Music or the romantic Ooh Baby. And not very far of this Soul sound we can enjoy his Funky side with People Of The World Unite and María. On the jamaican side we meet with Reggae and Rocksteady gems like Rum & Coconut Water, a Rocksteady wich transports you directly to the Caribbean sea while Something's Gotta Be Wrong is a Rockers Reggae with strong lirycs, same as with Down In Africa. Still in the rebel Reggae we find a unique track, Who Sey, with Laurel Aitken singing in “patois” for the very first time, that dialect spoke between rastafaris, with french roots. And we can’t forget Gloria, a Rocksteady with that Godfather of Ska taste, an own style with wich Laurel drives the audience crazy.

Cutting his teeth on the sort of jump blues and boogie shuffles popular during the early days of American R&B,...
