"Vivan Los Músicos" is Nacho Mastretta's first album since 2001. The Castilian composer and multi instrumentist has gathered with some of the studio and Live companions he usually works with for the last 10 years. A team of people coming from 4 different countries and bringing together 2 generations at least. The original idea is to focus on the personality of each musician and at the same time boost collective improvisation to open the door of a new interpretation of popular culture, transcend it to get a new feeling on stage and a renewed listening experience. Could be compared to what happen when one listen to klezmer music, elegant music made to accompany the day from dawn to sundown, celebrating life simple emotions. Mastretta is known for his music for movies, he recently received a Goya Award for best Spanish soundtrack (Asfalto). Musicians: Marina Sorin (cello), Diego Galaz (violin, trumpet-violin), Pablo Navarro (double bass), Miguel Malla (sax tenor, baritone and clarinet), Marco Cresci (clarinet, bass clarinet and sax alto), David Herrington (trumpet), Luca Frasca (piano and organ), Pablo Novoa (electric guitar and mandole), Ricardo Moreno (percussions and drums), Nacho Mastretta (clarinet, accordion, and harmonica) .
