In Sight I sit as I’ve been taughtBy the enlightened onesSearching for the naked truthIt's been a long roadWith many miles already traveledAnd many more to comeWill I ever see beyond the veil?Not just a glimpse precious peace? My mind's always a-chatterMired in hopes and fearsFixed on dreams and desiresGrasping the pastAs much as the future And then there's that grindThe dissolutionOf my body and brainThe gray hair turning grayerThe need for more and more sleepSickness and deathJust around the corner Yet they teach of a freedomHow do I get it? The answer's in my mind somewhereBeyond what I normally seeI am told I just have to lookObserve the myriad displaysAll fresh and newAs if I were a newborn babyOr my Calico kitty The calm does comeLike from walking in the deep forestOr viewing a meandering streamAnd when I feel itIt's like coming home to eat a warm dinnerAnd rest with my loved one And yet it all comes backLike a Caribbean stormThe need to be permeatedBy beauty and fortunePraise and recognitionThe need to be jealousAnd angry I don't want any of thatNot really But surely I cannot live without my mindThe only way to get rid of the painIs to get rid of my mind And so I return to the forestAnd stand beneath a lone PineIts magnificence so apparentGentle strength cradles meStanding below soft green needlesShimmering in the breezeI don't think it worries about fulfilling its destiny.It already IS And then as if by magicThere's no separationBetween me and the treeI become this treeYesThe tree is meI'm clear Wow Words can't describe this. And the very next moment I think of sushi and beer I have a place where I was bornI'm from Kitimat, British ColumbiaMy last name is HungarianMy mother is a Schubert from AustriaI’m married to someone so near and dear to meI have places to see and things to doI want to be an artistBetter yetA craftsmanNo matter how long it takes I'm all of this tooOf this I have no doubt And so it is a delicate balancing actA melding of thinking mind and awarenessLike the ever transmuting clouds aboveDancing with the infinite sky beyondAs lovers feasting on each otherThey are one The trick is and it's a big trickI must always concentrateNot so much on the cloudsSo as Not to miss out on all that heavenly glory So they tell me.
