Brilliantly haunting
I think that to really enjoy this album, you must first of all watch the film. The music is brilliantly constructed and the stand out tracks are 'In the House - In a Heartbeat', 'Am180' and 'An Ending'. This album just about stands up on its own merit but to really appreciate the atmosphere that John Murphy has created and to put mental pictures to those haunting melodies, you really have to watch the film. I have given this album 4 stars because I have watched the film and I can't help but be moved everytime I listen to it. Download it from iTunes and see what I mean.
Beautiful.
I have to say, this album is one of the best sountracks I've heard in a long time. If you listen to some of the pieces and close your eyes it just takes you somewhere else. John Murphy's great, and I would urge you to buy this album...its a must!
Some lovely music
A good soundtrack for a good film. I searched for this album after hearing 'in the house - in a heartbeat' used on a TV ad...then it came flooding back how much good music was used in the 28 days later film. Stand out tracks for me are: 'An Ending' (A real classic by Brian Eno) 'Frank's death - Soldiers' (very powerful classical styled track) and 'in the house - in a heartbeat'.
