9 to 5 24 -7 please!
People - i'm not going to lie to you... you could work in mcdonalds or in a bank (like i do) but this album reaches everyone! The songs are amusing and poignant at the same time and thats largely down to Dolly the-robbed-tony-award-nominee Partons amazing ability to relate to anything in her songwriting. With every musical there is always a certain theme and with 9 to 5, thats largely work. For me and my colleagues (who have waited up especially to download this ready for work in the morning) this is a great way to have a laugh and a singsong in these hard times. Seriously, i can't stress enough how catchy these tunes are! The original, still a classic, has the brilliant new lyrics which really get you on your feet, 'Around here' is another personal fave and anyone starting a new job should have this as a favourite too. One of my surprise favourites is 'Get Out and Stay Out' by Stephanie j Block. This amazing vocalist belts this tune out with enough passion to make you quiver, which if you've been hurt, really strikes a chord. Folks, this isn't just an album, it's a NECESSARY must have item if you've worked, been working, Struggled, still struggling, been Hurt, now recovering, and in general feel like you need some upbeat tunes to make that 9 to 5 go juuuusst a bit quicker...Thumbs up from me and download NOW.... go on, do it. Best soundtrack I have heard for a long time. Please bring this show to London. I can't believe it is finishing early in New York ! What's the matter with the americans? Download this album it's money well spent. You will love it!!!!!!

One Word to describe this : Phenomenal! Megan's Portrayl of Doralee, Dolly's character in the movie is absoultly amazing, she could easily pass for Dolly, Stephanie's 'Get out and Stay out' reminds me very much of her 'Defying Gravity' in wicked, and I loved her in that. Allison definetly suprised me with her singing. My personal fave songs are Around Here, The Dance O' Death, Cowgirl's Revenge(my personal fave out of the fantasy songs),Potion Notion. Shine like the sun and Get out and Stay out. Shine like the sun just shows how amazing the three of them are together. If you buy any soundtrack this year, this is the one to buy.
