A is for An Album of of outstanding songs
This is Alex Valentine's masterpiece, so far. It's his most rounded and mature collection of songs yet. Just listen to "Goodbye" and "Earthquakes and Storms", both with real emotion, they glide, soar and punch. Love those stabbing 'I Am The Walrus' strings on the former.
And then there's the joyful sweep of "Light Years". The cinematic "Joyriding", all convertible breeze and neon and, frankly everything else here.
Wonderfully arranged, produced and recorded, it's a bit of a gem. A big bit.
