Good debut
Dr Meaker's debut album was 10 years in the making, from 1998 up until this point so it's no surprise that the album carries a blend of musical styles under the umbrella of Bristol Soul. There's the hackneyed reggae of the ludicrously catchy Bad Boy Calling, the big beat and Massive Attack influenced All For You, the slick dnb of Moving & Grooving, Freed and Double Bass and a bit of hip hop to boot.
Featuring vocalists Yolanda Quartey (Phantom Limb, Deekline, Bugz, Massive Attack, Pinch) and Lorna King (who is a future talent), this definately flies the flag for Bristol.
