A Matter of Life and Death
So, A Matter of Life and Death...where to start? there honestly isn't a track on this album that comes across as 'filler'. Every track seems like these guys have worked hard to present an album full of punch, energy and head banging anthems that necessitate repeat listenings. There are moments of sheer aggression (Rage, Madness, Fear) but also moments of peace and beauty (Loss, Obsession) that create a balance which is often lacking in most 'metal' albums released in recent times.
Apparently this is the bands second album (the first being available on their social networking pages) and it is a clear step in the right direction as far as growth, development and finding the bands own 'style and sound' goes, and if this is anything to go by, the third album (when they come to write it) will be an even greater progression.
For fans of Devin Townsend, Strapping Young Lad, Machine Head, Gojira, Metallica, Pantera and even in places 'prog' metal bands like Opeth and Porcupine Tree, this album is a must. I urge you to check it out and support a great band. you wont be sorry you did!!
