The Dayz

I remember buying the album 'House Halicinates' back in '87 and thinking 'wow' this is really different, it's gonna change the world. Stripped out trax from the likes of Phuture, DJ Pierre, and Mr. Lee just didn't conform to people's preconcieved ideas about how dance music worked. Sure, after the death of disco (as it was known at the time), we'd expereinced new genres of dance music in the form of 'House' and 'Gararge', early examples of these genre's were pretty minimal, surviving on a groove, but acid, that was something else. My first expereince of acid house in a club environment was in a dingy place called the Savannah in Brighton. All of a sudden, the music that I had been listening to for a year (even though many of my friends thought I was weird) made even more sense. It wasn't about waving your hands in the air and dancing around hand bags, it was about finding your own space and absorbing the sounds, finding the groove, letting it move you. Acid Masters perfectly re-creates the atmosphere that I experienced back then in the care free days of 1988. No fillers, no acieeeeeed, just the original groove. Everyone said that acid house was a fad but, here we are. 20 years later and people are still producing it. This album is the beginning in all its reality. Perfect.

Phat Acid, Audio Food!! to fill your ears!

This 'Acid' album by 'Acid Masters' from 'Simply Recordings' is quite simply the most Phatest, Smoothest,Flyest audio Dope you will hear this side of this century, about 99% of the very generous 28 tracks are simply superb, so you like me probably won't notice or mind the odd track or two that is almost but not quite on a par with the rest of the albums sub cool acid tracks such as track 4 'Shout' which will get you into the Acid Groove, & when track 10 drops 'The Acid Life' (a very dark track) you should be just vibing off pure Acid gravy!!, track 12 'This Is Acid' will be enjoyed by all & maybe just that little bit more by those who can remember some of the stunning Acid House Music that was cropping up & dropping in nightclubs all over the place in the late 80's (Acid Groove anybody?) or maybe 'Stakker' by Humanoid one of my all time favorites, this Album has that era & that sort of feel to it. More Acid Heaven comes along with tracks like 'Land Of Confusion' (track 23) & 'Washing Machine' (track 26). I have given this Album 5 Stars simply because I could'nt give it the 10!!! it deserves, enjoy!!!!!!!!.

20 years since the Summer Of Love !!!!

This brings back a good few happy memories ! An excellent compilaton of Acid Tracks put together - Acieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!
