Amazing EP!
For those of you who know Akala the fact that this EP is amazing will not come as a surprise. By far the most lyrical and musical rapper/artist out of the UK, Akala could also be put in the top tier of hip hop artists worldwide - think Kanye, Nas & Common. Here he remixes some of his best tracks in an acoustic style and as with most acoustic songs the quality of the music and lyrics really comes through. If you don't know Akala and maybe are not usually into hip hop or rap this album is a great introduction to his work. You can hear the lyrics clearly and can see that he is a thoughtful and witty MC. On "Comedy Tragedy History" the violin from the electro/grime original really stands out, backed up by african drums and a guitar making this probably my favourite of the remixes on here. There are also two new tracks, a pure drum and rap track which is good and an incredible slow track called "My Video". If you like real music then give this EP a listen. Akala isn't as big as he should be because he seems to make genuine music and isn't signed to a big label. But he's one of the most inspirational artists out there and he keeps getting better.

After hearing a few of Plan Bs acustic versions i started to wonder what akalas lyrics would sound like without the amazing music to go with it. And here it is!! Just classical....CTH is something else, still cant belive how fast he spits yet i can understand every word....just buy it and support akala and illa state...dont download illegally!!!!

So good, sounds a bit like some of plan b's acoustic songs. Much faster though.
