Massively Disappointed

High Contrast is one of my favourite DnB artists of all time, but sadly his stuff just seems to get worse & worse. Everyone raved about "The First Note Is Silent", but in my opinion it was poor, and this latest track takes the biscuit. Utterly uninspiring. What happened to the blistering highs of "Return of Forever" & "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang"???? If this track has been selected as the headliner for HC's new album, I dread to think what the rest of it is like...Still, i'll keep my fingers crossed. Perhaps HC is just playing into the hands of the current commercial scene, and may have a few hidden gems in store for us on the upcoming album release. If not, i'll be giving up on him for good.

HC

Horse sh*t.

If you have liked drum & bass for anything longer than 35 minutes, you will not like this tune. One or two drum & bass artists have made some money recently by writing the kind of music that Radio 1 play, and it would seem that High Contrast is keen to get his slice of the pie. Steer away from from mainstream drum & bass as it WILL ruin the genre.

The man behind the moniker — Cardiff, Wales, native Lincoln Barrett — remained humble despite the hype, taking it in stride. He was only 22 when he recorded True Colors, an ambitious double-disc debut...
