Stunning!

When you recall the story told by Farka Toure, of holding Diabate in his arms when just a baby, the image just came through so strongly for me whenever they made music together. Once again, a beautiful album, the production is crisp and lush and everything that you would expect from a world circuit product.

There is little difference here from the previously released work of the last few years - however, for me, that is a good thing! It is simply stunning.

No doubting the emotion here

Great music, need to be in the mood for it but may just make you want to listen anyway. Great crafted music.

Wonderful

This is a beautiful, nay, gorgeous, album. Noticed it on the iTunes music homepage in the 'new releases', listened to a 30-second taster of one of the tracks (I don't know which one) and clicked 'buy'. I knew I'd like it even though I'd never heard of these guys. A 5-second taster would have been enough.

If you can't chill out to this, you don't posses the ability to chill out. And if it doesn't make you smile, you're not part of the human race and should go and buy a remote island to live on all by yourself instead of wasting your money on music.

This album will make you smile, make you laugh, and make you cry as you contemplate just how bloody wonderful life can be sometimes. It will take away your fears, your anger, your bad mood and your PMT. I'm so glad my ears work.

One of the most internationally successful West African musicians of the '90s, Ali Farka Touré was described as "the African John Lee Hooker" so many times that it probably began to grate on both Touré's and Hooker's nerves. There is a lot of truth to the comparison, however, and it isn't exactly an insult. The guitarist, who also played other instruments such as calabash and bongos, shared with Hooker (and similar American bluesmen...
