Classic

I was first introduced to this album over 10 years ago, when I was in my early twenties. It was during my 'experimental' phase. It was not the sort of music I would listen to normally, but it was unique. It is very peaceful and serene, and in some places comical. It inspired me to be creative and to appreciate different types of music genre. Thankyou Gong for opening my eyes. It isn't everyones cup of tea, but I would say if you get a chance, listen to this album, it is definitely different!

Not the curate's egg

I found a lost LP of this a while ago. I had forgotten what a great piece of work it is. Not just good in parts. I remember seeing this stuff live - excellent! I had no choice but to download this so I could hear it minus the surface noise. Imagine if the band did a 'Union' type gig. There'd hardly be room for the audience. Treat yourself. Give it a listen.

Work of art from Gong at their peak

Superb percussion by the late Pierre Moerlen holds this diverse album together. Great writing too - whether deep and meaningful or errant nonsense. Mostly gentle, there are some parts where the band really lets rip - check out Steve Hillage guitar solo on I never glid before. A real gem of a an album and a work of art.
