Highly underrated band
It always struck me how underrated this band was. I mean yeah, they've sold a good number of records and been around the world a few times; somehow though they still deserve more in terms of recognition. I suppose the band are a bit like Marmite... you're either going to get it or you're not. I did, so I'm one of the lucky ones. All I'd say is give this band some patience and have a whole new world opened up for you. I wouldn't have said this was a starters companion, but if you're a Muses fan like me, then it's pretty good! Take the risk, even if you can get it for cheaper elsewhere.

One of the quietly great college bands from the 1980s, Throwing Muses was formed in 1983 by guitarist/vocalist Kristin Hersh and her half-sister guitarist/vocalist Tanya Donelly with a few friends from high school. In 1986, the group's debut album was put out by the prestigious British label 4AD; Throwing Muses was the first American band to be released on that label.
