Nick Cave & Jesse James

After ' The Proposition ', another beautiful & evocative soundtrack by Nick Cave. Its distinctly his sound, yet at the same time is the sound of the time & landscape of this film. I hate to sound sycophantic, but is there anything Mr.Cave doesnt do?

Cave and Ellis at their best

Beautiful and simple - the way a soundtrack should be. This is less harsh than 'The Proposition' and even better than the much earlier and excellent Cave soundtrack for 'too have and too hold'. The more soundtracks penned by Cave and Ellis the better but this one will add a bit of class to anyones Ipod. Now all I have to do is actually see the film to see if its as good as the soundtrack...

The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford

A truly haunting piece of descriptive scene setting. Like Cave's soundtrack to The Proposition the album is full of atmosphere and authentic period sound that does hard earned justice to the beautiful, foreboding landscape of the film it scores.
