Album Review
Madina Lake's second album is produced by David Bendeth, the same man who helped turn Paramore's Riot! into one of the most popular emo-pop albums of 2007. While Paramore's album melded big, bright choruses with teenaged angst, the boys in Madina Lake prefer a darker blend of electronic flourishes and anxious, brittle rock. They also pepper their music with futuristic story lines, although the fictional town that inspired much of the band's debut is largely absent from this sophomore effort. Instead, Attics to Eden takes up residence in the intersection of post-grunge and emo-inspired rock.
Customer Reviews
fantasitc
such a progression from the last album, with some great sounds and mixes. well thought out and worth the wait. good job!
Best album ever!!!!!
This is a great album chock full of amazing tracks. A big step forward from the first album.
Great Follow Up
This is an album with quite a lot of energy and has a lot of memorable hooks. There could be 4 or 5 lead singles off of this, including 'Let's Get Outta Here', 'Never Take Us Alive', 'Never Walk Alone', 'Statistics' and 'Never Walk Alone'. Well worth a listen because all the rest of the tracks are great too. I think Madina Lake have found that next level which most bands struggle to find in a second album, and they have not only produced a solid follow up, but a follow up which offers a slightly different twist on their style from their first album, making it a must for any Madina Lake fan.
